So today we're gonna take a look at these different themed nights from

a glittering New Year's Eve party, celebrating the lead up to the year 2000.

to a very nostalgic 1980s party, complete with some very

unusual dancing and activations.

there's a few surprises that you will absolutely not want to miss.

So firstly, let's look at the themed experiences that you're gonna see

across every single one of the Virgin Voyage and specifically we're talking

about Scarlet Night and the PJ Party.

Let's start with the PJ Party.

This is a party which typically happens on embarkation date.

So the very first night of your voyage, you're gonna expect

to see this on the lineup.

It normally starts around about half 11, and depending on the weather of

your sailing, it will either be held in The Manor or at The Athletic Club.

The Athletic Club is the very back of the ship on deck 16.

ordinarily they will try and hold it on deck 16 'cause it is a much larger

space and it's really cool to be hosting a party like this under the stars.

So what are you expecting to see during the PJ Party?

well.

I'd rather not give away too many spoilers in this video.

I just encourage you to go along to each of these themed nights.

But I do wanna give you a little sense of what to expect.

During the PJ Party, the vibes are very much like a 1990s or 2000s slumber party.

So the type of music that you're gonna be hearing are pop songs from that period.

so, if you think Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, things like that,

it's really good music if you wanna have a dance and a sing along as well.

This event is hosted by the Happenings Cast and the Happenings Cast will

pop in and out of the festivities with different activations, different

dances and songs throughout the night.

these activations are really cool, so do keep an eye out

for them when they come along.

The PJ Party is always a really popular event.

So sometimes the bars can get a little bit crowded,

but as a savvy tip, if you're looking for a quick drink, you might simply

just want to go to a different bar that's close to the PJ Party venue.

So if you are in The Manor, you might want to slip out and go to The Casino Bar or

On The Rocks or if you're in The Athletic Club, you might want to head down to

The Grounds Club Too bar in The Galley.

Now, for each of these themed events that I'm introducing you to today, I'm

gonna give you a sense of the level of participation people tend to make when it

comes to the dress code for each event.

and hopefully this is useful to you.

If you're planning how much baggage space allowance to allow for these

themed events and whether you wanna participate in particular ones.

it's worth saying this is all from our experience.

It could be that the folks on your particular sailing

participate more or less.

But I will say when it comes to the PJ Party, around nine out of 10 people

will be dressed in PJs for the PJ Party.

And the dress code for the PJ Party is very simple.

It's PJs.

There are of course a few rules about what is appropriate to wear on board the ships.

So you might wanna steer away from things that are a little too revealing.

That would mean that security of giving you a tap on the shoulder.

but apart from that, you just need to use a little bit of common sense

when it comes to the dress code.

If you are wanting to dress up for the event and you want to make a real

effort, there is a little bit of a fun competition about who has the best PJs

and it can snag you a free drink, so it's well worth participating if you like.

As ever, if you don't feel comfortable dressing up for any of these events

that I mentioned today, you don't need to, you can show up to any of these

events without needing to dress up.

It is, of course, always completely optional.

In my experience, we've always had the best time by leaning

into the theme of the night, so I always recommend it if you can.

Another little tip for PJ Party, because it's the first night, it's a

really good chance to meet new people.

And if you are looking to meet new people while you're sailing,

to maybe feel part of a larger group of friends when you're sailing.

I always recommend doing the Grog Walk on the first night as well.

This is a bit of a bar crawl.

There is a cost associated to it, but you do get included drinks as

part of that experience, and you do a few games to introduce one

another to each other in the group.

it's a really fun way to meet new people.

It can feel a little awkward at first, but once you've had a couple

of drinks, it's absolutely fine.

and we personally have met lifelong friends during the Grog

Walk, and it means that you are ready with a group of friends,

the Grog Walk generally ends at the PJ Party, so everyone's ready to go!

Now moving on to Scarlet Night.

Again, this is something that's offered on all of the Virgin Voyages ships, and

Scarlet Night is the iconic Red Party.

So I'll not go into too much detail in this video, but I do recommend if

The big thing of course you'll need to know about Scarlet Night is that

this is where everyone will wear red.

And when I say everyone, I generally mean everyone.

I would say nine and a half to 10 people out of 10 will be dressed

up in red for Scarlet Night.

If you are gonna do one themed night, make sure you do Scarlet Night.

Again, of course it is completely optional.

You don't need to wear red if you don't want to, but I would recommend it.

One other Scarlet Night tip I have for you is if you plan on getting

in the pool during the big pool party, make sure that you're dressed

appropriately for doing that.

You do want to go jumping in the pool with anything that's too thick

or heavy that you're gonna have to dry out or put in the suitcase.

Make sure if you wanna be pool-ready that you dress pool-ready as well.

That might include a change of clothes into a different red outfit for the pool

party, but I'll leave that up to you.

So after those two events, that's where things fragment a little

and it's really dependent on which ship you are sailing on.

So we're gonna go chronologically starting with Scarlet Lady, and

we're gonna talk about the themed events that you're gonna be expecting

to see on board when you sail.

So first of all, exclusively for Scarlet Lady, we have a party

called Y2K and this is a party that takes place in The Red Room.

So it's a much larger party than many of these other themed events, which

are generally concentrated to The Manor

Y2K is a reconstruction of New Year's Eve ringing in the new millennium And

there's a ton of fun references and gags to the fact that Y2K is coming,

including jokes about the millennium bug,

the impending Y2K chaos, as well as some fun music and dance moments

during this celebration as well.

As you can imagine, the playlist is fairly similar to the PJ Party 'cause

we're talking about really the same time period when it comes to music, but

it is maybe a little bit more uptempo and dancey and celebratory, let's say.

There are also some classic New Year's Eve moments as well.

The parties, of course, centered around the big countdown to the new year.

So the Happenings Cast are gonna be immersed in the crowd and getting excited

for the ball dropping for the year 2000.

The recommended dress code for Y2K is of course that 90s and 00s style fashion.

So thick, big jeans, bright colors,

maybe hints of neon and Electric blue and transparency and glitter.

And if you feel like it, maybe some indoor sunglasses as well.

the level of participation for Y2K when it comes to the dress code is

It's maybe not as popular to dress up for as PJ Party or Scarlet Night, but

people do like to lean into it a little.

Personally, I always feel like it's an easy one to dress up for.

There's often some things on the sale rack that would be really good for this party.

So give it a go if you can.

Next up for Scarlet Lady is an import from Resilient Lady and it still is

going on on Resilient Lady as well.

And this is Klub Rubiks, and this is the iconic 1980s

themed party on Virgin Voyages.

It was such a success on Resilient Lady when she launched back in 2023 that it was

repeated and put on Scarlet Lady as well.

and as far as themes go, it's pretty easy.

It's 1980s style so you can think sweat bands, you can think

big wigs and padded shoulders.

you are gonna hear iconic music by Whitney Houston and Duran Duran.

but it's not just pop music.

There's an eclectic mix of eighties music, including classic eighties

rock anthems and hip hop as well

in terms of the activations and dance moments in Klub Rubiks, some of

them have to be seen to be believed.

Some of them are a little bizarre, but they're always a lot of fun.

It's very clear whenever we've been on a sailing that has Klub Rubiks that

this is a complete crowd favorite and people get really, really excited for

this one, the participation levels are very, very good for Klub Rubiks.

Round about seven to eight out of 10 will be dressed up for the night, and

it's a really fun one to dress up for.

If you have neon accessories or sweat bands, big wigs, anything

like that, anything goes.

It's always really fun to dress up for Klub Rubiks,

We always see some really cool accessories during Klub Rubiks,

some inflatable mobile phones and boomboxes . for example, oversized

jewelry and light up accessories.

People do get very creative when it comes to Klub Rubiks and

it's always a fantastic night.

Then the final theme night for Scarlet Lady, but this one is also

available on Valiant Lady, so we're moving over to Valiant Lady as well.

This is Club Caliente and this is the Latin themed night.

Club Caliente is all about Latin music.

And this is where the Happenings Cast can really show off their dancing ability

as they show off incredibly high energy, Latin-style dance moves there are moments

in Club Caliente that really resemble a high energy salsa dancing class.

It's a lot of fun and we hear huge amount of great feedback from Club Caliente

but there's no real theme that's been announced that people can dress up

in, but feel free to have fun with it.

The Happenings Cast tend to wear orange for this night.

So maybe if you want to go along with that orange color theme, that

might be a nice thing to tie it into.

But with that being said, it's a little difficult to judge the

participation level for Club Caliente, but feel free to have fun with it.

The only themed night that is specific for Valiant Lady is called Heartbeat,

Heartbeat is one of the original club nights that was on Virgin

Voyages at the very beginning.

And it's a great combination of both a disco and club night, but also a

performance as well, because there are a number of activations and performances

as with many of these parties, they eventually end up with just a standard

club night dancing energy at the end.

But the type of music that's played during Heartbeat generally

is pop and funk and disco.

In terms of dressing up, Heartbeat doesn't really have a particular theme.

If anything, it would be red, but then that kind of

intersects with Scarlet Night.

So it doesn't feel to us that there's a particular theme they

want guests to participate in.

So I'll say zero out of 10 for participation for this one.

The last party night to mention for Valiant Lady is also

on Resilient Lady as well.

So we're heading over to Resilient Lady now and that is We Fancy.

This is another party night that launched with Resilient Lady back in 2023 and was

so successful it ended up transferring over onto Valiant Lady as well.

We Fancy has The Manor transformed into a glittering ballroom,

which is all about opulence and an exploration into world music.

this starts off with the Happenings Cast meandering around the dance

floor and introducing everyone into The Manor for the night ahead.

If you get to the manor early enough, the Happenings Cast will actually

arrange themself into a sort of guard-of-honor to bring people onto

the dance floor where everyone cheers

And it gives people a chance to have a fantastic entry into the dance floor

and maybe show off that outfit as well.

The Happenings Cast will be at either side encouraging people to get involved,

but again, of course this is optional.

the dance floor if you don't want to.

But many, many people do wanna get involved because We Fancy

is all about glittering gold.

So this could be anything from shiny materials or gold accessories

Dare I say, it's the closest thing that Virgin Voyages has to a bit of

a formal night because it's a little bit fancier, but don't read that

the type of music that you're expecting in We Fancy is world music,

So it's a lot of popular hits and music that you'll be familiar with,

It's because of this that We Fancy has its own personality and feels very different

Happenings Cast, including a fantastic vocal performance by The Hostess as well.

I'm not gonna talk too much about Lola's Library, but it is a show in The Manor

Sticking with parties, we're on our final ship, which is Brilliant Lady, and

she launched last year with some brand new entertainment and two of those bits

of entertainment are themed events.

The first event to talk about is Disco Circus, and this really

is what it says on the tin.

It's a disco with some circus performances thrown in as well.

so the music you're expecting to hear during this particular

event are 70s disco hits, which is a personal favorites of mine.

and there are are of course circus performances that are

So, not only will you see the Happenings Cast during this event doing dance

activations, you're also gonna see some of the acrobats and performers

from Duel Reality come into The Manor and show off their skills with some

incredible acrobatics, juggling and more.

This is a really successful blend of both the energy of the dancing and

the incredible, spectacular stunts that you're gonna see all set against

the really uplifting disco music.

A lthough this didn't start off as a themed event, all the cast tend to

wear silver as part of their costumes.

and this of course, is very in keeping with disco.

So if you do wanna participate in this event, when it comes to dressing up,

This is a neon glow party that's held in The Manor so from the cast,

the music for Electric tends to be Electric themed,

by which I mean, you're gonna hear things like the Electric Slide,

I suppose there's a little bit of a loose theme for the music, but the

theme of that neon glow and that UV energy that runs throughout this

party is gonna be very clear indeed.

the participation level for Electric is pretty good.

Just shy of Klub Rubiks, so let's say around about seven out of 10 people

generally get involved with the Electric theme, and if you've already got an outfit

So, although it's not necessarily eighties themed, you'll still wanna bring along

So those are the two themed parties you're gonna see on Brilliant Lady.

That remaining third slot is down to Bingo Blitz: After Dark, which is a bingo event

that happens in The Manor late at night.

That is a really fun, bingo based game and works a lot like the main Bingo.

But it is set in The Manor and it's also set to music.

So it happens in between the dance floor energy.
