the world of Virgin Voyages. So, let's

kick things off first with those changes

choices announcement is all about giving

the voyage that is tailored to them. So,

Now, when Virgin Voyages first started

I thought, right, it's going to be very

different when you step on board now

because depending on how much you pay,

So, let's start off by taking a look at

what today's fair includes. So, of

all of that will remain. But one

important aspect to this announcement

that is changing or will be offered as a

choice anyway is the flexibility that

currently, you're able to change the

not only will you keep the same booking

terms as you would normally would, you

actually get a bit of a hidden perk

where actually the window where you're

able to book dining will be extended to

60 days instead of 45. So, you'll be

able to book your dining for your voyage

a little bit earlier than you did

before. And this counts on bookings all

the way up until the 7th of October. So,

you still have time right now if you

like to book a sailing and lock it in on

that legacy fair. But now, I'm going to

tell you about the new voyage fair

choices model and the choices that come

along with that. So, you might prefer

these options instead. So, the first

voyage fair choice I want to mention is

called the essential fair. And the

essential fair effectively replaces the

legacy fair. And I'm going to show you

just how similar the essential fair is

to the fair that you already use today.

and the one that you'll probably be

familiar with already. So, the essential

fair is very similar to the legacy fair

indeed. You likely will not recognize

any differences at all. The one main

difference here is that the flexibility

of this fair has been slightly

diminished with the fact that you can

now only make changes to your fellow

sailor rather than the main sailor on

the booking. So, what I mean by that is

when you go through the booking process,

you'll be asked who you would like to

designate as sailor one. So, starting

from the 7th of October, if you choose

an essential fair and you set yourself

as sailor one, you will now have to go

on that voyage. There will no longer be

the option to swap your name out for

somebody else. This is particularly

important to any of those that have

moved their booking to one of their

with the essential fair, it won't have

that flexibility. So, one thing to be

really careful with on an essential fair

is always name the person who's

bookings because you will not be able to

caveat, the essential fair will be very,

very similar to the legacy fair of old.

So, let's now take a look at one of our

model. So, let's move along to something

that is a lot more flexible than the

premium fair option. So, the premium

fair will sit above the essential

option. And of course, because it sits

above the essential fair, there is an

additional cost involved with the

premium fair, but it does include some

new perks. So, let's take a look at what

those perks look like. So, the

that includes a few really valuable

So let's take a look at what that looks

like. So although you will be getting a

does come with a few limitations. The

first limitation is that you will get a

is of course significantly reduced from

risk on the base fair of not many dining

all. One thing you do need to be careful

of is that this base fair is

non-refundable and it doesn't allow any

changes at all. So, that means whatever

booking, so the main sailor, the fellow

sailor, the date that you're sailing on

and the cabin that you choose or the

cabin that's assigned to you, you will

not be able to change those. So, it's

kind of similar to a lock it in rate if

website before. One other caveat here

with the base fair is that the Wi-Fi

that you receive, it is included still

on Virgin Voyages, which is great, but

they have introduced a new Wi-Fi plan

called basic Wi-Fi. And this sit on a

step below the classic Wi-Fi. So, Virgin

Voyages have said that this is great for

things like social media, messaging, and

emails, and some light browsing as well.

From what we understand, the basic Wi-Fi

fair is great for you. But if you're a

planner and you prefer to get everything

And the premium is more for those that

So, I can already hear the alarm bells

ringing around the world when I start to

mention gratuitities as they relate to

Virgin Voyages. Well, let me put your

mind at rest right away. Virgin Voyagers

made it very clear to us that they are

not adding gratuitities to the cost of
16:09
your voyage. In fact, it's quite the
16:12
opposite. What they're doing is making
16:14
things a little bit more transparent so
16:16
you can compare the price of a Virgin
16:18
Voyages cruise with the price of any
16:20
other cruise that you would sail on with
16:22
one of the other cruising brands. So,

let me explain what I mean by this. So,

if we take a look at an example fair as

it exists today. So, let's say that we

are two sailors sailing in a cabin on a

seven night voyage. And let's say the

cost of that voyage is $3,500, just for

example. Right now, that would be our

total voyage fair. That's how much our

entire voyage costs. But let's break

that down a little bit and see what that

actually made up of. So, first of all,

you're paying for your cruise fair, your

accommodation, the standard cruise

experience. Of course, these ships are

not cheap, and the Virgin Voyager ships

in particular are very, very nice, and

they cost a lot of money to run,

including the fantastic worldass

entertainment you see on board as well.

If we add to that the cost of food and

beverages, so you get your sodas,

filtered waters, all of that included on

Virgin Voyages. And the food is also

incredible. If you've been on board

before, you'll know exactly what I mean.

Then, of course, a chunk of your fair

goes towards taxes and fees as well. And

then finally, bundled in with the Virgin

Voyages fair, you have staff

gratuitities included in that cost as

well. And this is where Virgin Voyages

historically have stood out because they

don't ask anymore for those extra

gratuitities. But in reality, it always

been hidden in that big sticker price,

which has effectively inflated the cost

of a voyage to a price that isn't really

comparable to other cruise lines. And

Virgin Voyagers have pointed out that it

does in a small way diminish the value

that the crew really brings to your

voyage experience. So to address these

problems, what Virgin Voyages are going

to do is instead of using that big

sticker price to include the

gratuitities, they're going to reduce

the amount that displays on their

into what those gratuitities actually

look like. So the cost for gratuitities

And there will be two different ways to

pay your gratuitities. So you can choose

to pay for this as effectively a package

So, let's just look at a few details

when it comes to these gratuitities. So,

the first thing to mention is that the

onboard tipping experience is not going

to change. So, when you order an

alcoholic drink, for example, from the

bar, you're not going to get one of

those receipts where you have to choose

a tip and sign. That's not going to
