Virgin Voyages is working on a revamped version of its lesser known air and hotel program, with a temporary pause now in place for new bookings while changes are made.

The update was shared with First Mates, with the cruise line confirming it is rebuilding the program to make it smoother and more seamless for sailors from the moment they book.

Temporary Pause During Transition

As part of the transition, Virgin Voyages has paused new air and hotel bookings to allow time for the existing system to be replaced with a more refined version.

Any air or hotel bookings already made through Virgin Voyages are not affected, and Sailor Services will continue to support those bookings, including handling any changes or updates as needed.

A Limited Program Until Now

The air and hotel offering has existed for some time but has remained relatively underused by most sailors, largely due to how it was set up.

Flights and hotels were not bookable directly online and instead required contacting Sailor Services or First Mates for a quote, while the hotel selection was limited to a small number of partner properties near select homeports such as Miami, Seattle, Athens and Barcelona.

In many cases, pricing through the program could also be higher than booking flights and hotels separately, which meant many sailors chose to arrange their own plans instead.

Focus on a More Seamless Experience

Virgin Voyages says the revamped program will focus on a more service-led and connected experience, improving how flights and hotel stays are handled alongside a voyage.

The aim is to create a smoother journey from booking through to embarkation, something that has been missing from the current setup.

More Details Expected Soon

Virgin Voyages has not yet confirmed a relaunch date for the updated program, but says more details will be shared once it is ready.

For now, sailors planning a voyage will need to arrange flights and hotels separately until the new version of the program is introduced.
