Brilliant Lady is the final version of the Scarlet class ship to the Virgin Voyages fleet launched in September 2025. With additional changes built for sailing through the Panama Canal.

Construction
Planning
On top of the original three-ship plan, Brilliant Lady was ordered on October 31st, 2018. This ship is the only one in the fleet that can fit through the Panama Canal due to its design change that adjusted the position of the lifeboats.
Delivery
Brilliant Lady was floated out on November 25th 2022. On February 12th 2024 the ship left the Fincantieri Genova Shipyard.
Naming and Debut
Brilliant Lady was officially named on April 25th 2022 with her mermaid icon being revealed by us on February 23rd 2024.
Delayed Launch
Brilliant Lady, Virgin Voyage’s fourth ship was delayed on September 7th 2023, the previous MerMaiden was planned for December 23rd 2023.
Maiden Voyage
Brilliant Lady launched on September 5th 2025 following an announcement on May 1st 2025. Featured home ports included New York, Miami, Los Angeles & Seattle.
Operational Career
- 2025 – MerMaiden from New York in September, Miami sailings in Winter
- 2026 – Virgin Voyages inaugural Panama Canal sailing in March, Los Angeles sailings through May, Alaska debut in Summer
- 2027 – Shorter Caribbean sailings, Panama Canal & second Alaska season
