Persephone: A unique retelling of Greek mythology
In ancient Greek mythology and religion, Persephone is the daughter of Zeus and Demeter. She became the queen of the underworld after her abduction by and marriage to her uncle Hades, the king of the underworld. This original retelling concept comes from Holly-Anne Devlin and Kaleidoscope Immersive exclusively for Virgin Voyages.
The show first debuted on Resilient Lady in May 2023 and later launched on Scarlet Lady in October 2025, bringing this immersive story to more ships in the fleet.
Unique Theater Experience
“Persephone” offers multiple viewpoints, making each visit a unique experience. There is no seating for this show in the Red Room except for on Deck 7. Guests are encouraged to move around the space to catch every angle of the performance, which unfolds not only on the main stage but also up the walls and through the audience.

“Persephone” brings together everything Virgin Voyages has developed in its entertainment program to create a powerful mix of acrobatics, live singing, and dynamic dance. Highlights include an emotional solo from Persephone herself and a glitter ball sequence that sends reflections across the entire Red Room.
