Virgin Voyages has announced the cancellation of another 2025 sailing on Valiant Lady, marking the second cancellation within a month and the third in October 2025 due to a private charter.

Why Was the Sailing Canceled?

This cancellation comes as the ship has been reserved for a private charter, a common practice in the cruise industry. Chartering allows organizations to book the entire ship for exclusive events or themed experiences, which often leads to itinerary adjustments.

Impacted Voyage and Re-Booking Options

The affected voyage is the Fire & Sunset Soirées sailing scheduled for October 1, 2025, a 4-night itinerary that includes stops in Miami, Key West, and the Beach Club at Bimini.

Sailors booked on the canceled voyage will receive flexible re-booking options:

  • Re-booking: Sailors can transfer to another itinerary of the same length or shorter at the same fare, with original promotions and cabin categories protected.
  • Compensation: An additional $100 in Sailor Loot will be provided as a gesture of goodwill.

Emails with detailed instructions have already been sent to affected sailors.

Overview

This is yet another cancellation for Valiant Lady, disrupting the plans of sailors who have already invested time and effort into organizing their vacations. While Virgin Voyages has offered re-booking options and a small compensation, repeated cancellations may raise concerns among loyal sailors about the reliability of their future bookings on these Miami sailings.

For further assistance, sailors are encouraged to contact Virgin Voyages or their First Mate (Travel Agent) directly.

We have had two VVs cancelled so far. The first rebooking policy was fairly generous, the second less so. The policy for this reported cancellation is downright disgraceful. How many 4-day itineraries are avilable over the same dates?! So if you have committed to those dates and booked flights they are telling you to go basically get stuffed. $100 credit is derisory.

It may be common practice, but it sucks. People travel from all over the world to join a cruise . . . . Non-refundable flights (perhaps $4000.00 for a couple), non-refundable hotel rooms. I realize these are “caveat emptor” issues, but that’s no help or consolation for folks who’ve committed to the cruise, maybe even paid in advance, in full, yet the cruise line totally destroys their plans, with only a $100.00 perk. Contract of Carriage (Ts and Cs) aside, this “common practice” sucks. VV (and others) should either start individual bookings later, or require charter booking earlier. To be clear this doesn”t impact me personally, but my sympathies to those impacted.

Viegin Voyages is notorious for canceling cruises! Worst of all the cruise lines!

I agree. VV will start getting a bad reputation if this happens too often just because the ship is so appealing to those people who have enough money to hire it for private charter. Regular, loyal sailors will begin to lose faith and look elsewhere.
VV cancelled all booked seasons in Australia, necessitating rebooking overseas with international flights added into plans. Anyone affected who has already had to do that will be doubly peeved!
