Virgin Voyages Sailors Can Now Redeem Virgin Red Points for a $300 Bar Tab
Virgin Red has introduced a new reward allowing members to redeem points for a $300 Virgin Voyages Bar Tab.
Virgin Red members can now redeem Virgin Points for a Virgin Voyages Bar Tab, giving sailors another way to use points on an existing booking. The new reward allows members to exchange 40,000 Virgin Points for a $300 Bar Tab.
The Bar Tab can be used for drink purchases onboard Virgin Voyages ships and at The Beach Club at Bimini. This includes items such as cocktails, wine, beer, specialty coffees, fresh juices and other drinks.
How The Virgin Red Bar Tab Redemption Works
Members need a valid Virgin Voyages booking reference to redeem the reward. Once redeemed through Virgin Red, the $300 Bar Tab is applied to the booking before sailing.
The reward must be redeemed no later than seven business days before the date of travel. Virgin Red says the voucher must also be used within 12 months of issue. This reward provides a fixed $300 Bar Tab only. It does not include any additional Bar Tab promotional bonus which is typically $50 extra.
What Value Does It Offer?
The new redemption allows sailors to exchange 40,000 Virgin Points for $300 in onboard drink credit. That works out at approximately 0.75 cents per Virgin Point, which is equivalent to $7.50 in Bar Tab value for every 1,000 Virgin Points redeemed.
While some Virgin Atlantic flight redemptions may provide greater value, this offers a straightforward way to convert Virgin Points into something many sailors will use during their voyage.
What Is A Bar Tab?
A Bar Tab is prepaid drink credit that can be used for beverages onboard Virgin Voyages and at The Beach Club at Bimini.
It can be used on cocktails, beer, wine, spirits, specialty coffees, fresh juices, smoothies, energy drinks and mocktails. Unlike Sailor Loot, it can only be used for eligible drink purchases.
