A familiar face has appeared in a mysterious new role aboard Virgin Voyages, with Abi The Siren making her debut during Valiant Lady’s recent Solar Eclipse voyage.

Best known to Sailors as Abi The Hostess, Abi appeared under the new title during the 15-night sailing from Portsmouth to Iceland and the British Isles.

The Siren operated separately from Valiant Lady’s regular Happenings Cast, hosting several smaller invitation-only experiences. Virgin Voyages has not formally announced the role or confirmed where Abi may appear next.

Much of what The Siren gets up to also appears intentionally designed to remain a secret, with details shared with VV Insider by Sailors who encountered the character during the voyage.

Who Is Abi The Siren?

Long-time Virgin Voyages Sailors will probably need little introduction to Abi Gold.

Abi has been part of Virgin Voyages since before Scarlet Lady began sailing and has appeared as The Hostess across all four Lady Ships. She is the only performer to have been part of the opening Happenings Cast aboard Scarlet Lady, Valiant Lady, Resilient Lady and Brilliant Lady.

Her involvement has also extended beyond regular contracts at sea. Abi has represented Virgin Voyages at launch events, travel industry activations and media appearances, including appearances alongside Virgin Group founder Sir Richard Branson.

An accomplished theater performer and singer, Abi has become a firm favorite among Sailors for her distinctive comedy, improvisation and guest interactions.

Her most recent appearance as The Hostess was aboard Brilliant Lady during the ship’s inaugural Alaska season.

Abi Debuts as The Siren

Abi’s first known appearance as The Siren took place during Valiant Lady’s Eclipse in the Land of Fire and Ice voyage, which departed Portsmouth on August 5, 2026.

The Siren does not currently appear among Virgin Voyages’ regular published Happenings Cast positions.

Mysterious Invitations for Selected Sailors

During the voyage, selected Sailors received physical invitations to experiences hosted by The Siren away from the normal published entertainment schedule.

Sailors told VV Insider about several different invitations they received during the sailing.

These included an intimate dining experience called The Siren’s Table, a special Scarlet Night encounter named The Siren’s Scarlet Tour and a particularly mysterious invitation known as The Siren’s Calling.

Some invitations provided little more than a meeting place and instructions. Sailors were then left to discover what followed for themselves.

We will be keeping the details under wraps. Surprise appears to be an important part of The Siren’s experiences, and revealing more could spoil them for anyone who receives an invitation on a future voyage.

A New Type of Virgin Voyages Role

The Siren arrives as Virgin Voyages continues to experiment with its onboard entertainment.

Brilliant Lady’s Alaska season introduced destination-specific characters including The Naturalist and The Lumberjack, while Valiant Lady recently added more than 20 activities to its Happenings lineup.

The Siren appears to be something slightly different. The character can operate alongside the regular Happenings Cast and create additional experiences without replacing one of its established roles.

Abi’s debut also took place on a longer, event-led Marvelous Voyage. These sailings often have more room for special guests and additional programming.

However, Virgin Voyages has not confirmed whether The Siren was a one-off concept, something intended for selected sailings or the beginning of a more permanent addition to its entertainment offering.

Where Will Abi The Siren Appear Next?

For now, nobody knows.

Virgin Voyages has not published a schedule or confirmed any future appearances.

So far, The Siren has appeared through word of mouth, unexpected encounters and invitations finding their way to selected Sailors.

Whether the role becomes a more established part of Virgin Voyages entertainment remains to be seen.
