Virgin Voyages has confirmed that Tracy Arm Fjord will be removed from its Alaska itineraries for a second consecutive year, with Brilliant Lady instead visiting Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier during the 2027 season.

The change follows the same adjustment made to the cruise line’s 2026 Alaska sailings. Virgin Voyages says ongoing landslide risk in the Tracy Arm area remains the reason for the change.

Virgin Voyages has also made several other updates to its 2027 Alaska itineraries, including replacing Prince Rupert with Victoria on several sailings following sailor feedback.

Tracy Arm Removed for a Second Alaska Season

Tracy Arm Fjord was originally scheduled to feature on several Brilliant Lady Alaska itineraries in 2027. However, Virgin Voyages has now confirmed these visits will not go ahead because of the ongoing landslide risk in the area.

The same change was made during the 2026 Alaska season following safety concerns around Tracy Arm. This means Brilliant Lady will now visit Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier for a second consecutive season.

Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier Return for 2027

Instead of Tracy Arm, affected voyages will cruise through Endicott Arm towards Dawes Glacier. Endicott Arm offers a similar scenic cruising experience, with steep granite cliffs, waterfalls and floating ice along the route. At the end of the fjord is Dawes Glacier, an active tidewater glacier.

During the 2026 Alaska season, Virgin Voyages offered an optional Fjord & Glacier Boat Tour priced at $450 per sailor. The pricing proved controversial, although the excursion provides a much closer view of Dawes Glacier than is possible from Brilliant Lady.

The experience transfers sailors directly from Brilliant Lady onto a smaller vessel, which can travel further into the fjord towards the glacier.

Several Other 2027 Itinerary Updates Confirmed

Virgin Voyages has also made several other changes across Brilliant Lady’s 2027 Alaska season. On many of the seven-night itineraries, Prince Rupert has been removed. The scheduled visit is replaced with a sea day, followed by a new call in Victoria, British Columbia.

There are also smaller changes on selected voyages. These include Juneau becoming a tender port on some itineraries and changes to the order of Icy Strait Point and Haines.

The August 24 sailing will now leave Victoria at 6 PM instead of 11 PM due to local harbor restrictions.

These changes vary by sailing, and Virgin Voyages is contacting affected sailors with details of their updated itinerary.
