The Experience
Led by the onboard Sommelier and the resident ‘Foodie’ from The Happenings Cast the Beyond Tequila experience unfolds at the Pink Agave bar, the cruise’s Mexican restaurant. To prepare for the tasting, participants are offered a choice between two juices at the outset to cleanse their palates.
Following the palate-cleansing, attendees are ushered into the seating area of Pink Agave, featuring a captivating display of tequilas and appetizers. The onboard ‘Foodie’ initiates the event with an introduction to the art of tequila, while the Sommelier guides participants in the proper techniques of smelling and tasting the drinks.
The presentation showcases three tequilas – Blanco, Reposado, and Anejo, allowing participants to discern their preferences. The event then transitions to exploring mescal, with insights into the distinctions between the two spirits. Two mescal drinks are offered, complemented by popular Pink Agave appetizers such as guacamole and totopos.
Pricing and How to Book
The pricing for this event stands at $50 per sailor. This includes three 1.5-ounce tequila drinks (Blanco, Reposado, Anejo) and two 1.5-ounce mescal drinks.
This event exclusively caters to a small group, accommodating no more than eight participants. The event is exclusively available on ships equipped with a qualified sommelier and during longer sailings. The activity can be conveniently booked through the Virgin Voyages app when connected to the onboard Wi-Fi.
