Booking Events
Events can sell out on busy sailings, as a sailor, you can book events on board. Read this guide for information on how to book.
How to Book Events
There are many events onboard Virgin Voyages ships. Most entertainment offerings are included in your cruise fare while other more premium options are available at an additional charge that typically include alcohol.
Booking via the App
All events must be booked using the Virgin Voyages app. In the app select ‘Event Line-Up’, choose the event you would like to book and select the connected sailors you will be attending it with. Some of the premium events may book up quickly such as Bungee classes and Alcohol classes.
Cost to Book
There is no cost to book an event and no penalty if you do not show up. However if the event carries a fee this amount will come out of your onboard balance. If you have sailor loot, this will be used for the booking. Bar Tab can not be used for these events.
Walk Up Availability & First Come First Serve
Virgin Voyages is trialling headline events in the Red Room as walk up only across the fleet, if you are part of this test you will see “first come, first served” on your event-lineup and do not need to book in the app for these events.
The vast majority of headline events will have walk up availability 10 minutes before show time if they are bookable. Headline shows are also shown multiple times a cruise so that everyone has an opportunity to see them.
Booking Before Other Sailors
Some events have the potential to sell out if you’re on a popular sailing. Here are some tips to avoid the rush and make sure you’re on the guest list:
- Book Using Your Rockstar Host: If you’re lucky enough to be sailing as a Rockstar you can ask your Rockstar Roadie to book popular events for you in advance of your sailing. They will be in touch before you sail to organise this.
- Be Online Early: If you are selected to trial pre-booking events before the sailing make sure you keep an eye on your emails, when this window opens up try and be one of the first to book the events you like.
- Book Popular Events First: Some events are more popular than others or have a very limited number of spaces available, some examples are Grog Walk and Bungee Workout Classes – make sure you book these events first before booking the larger, more widely available events like events in The Red Room.
- Try With Fewer Sailors: If space is limited and the app is not allowing you to book your whole party try selecting fewer guests and trying again.
- Use Switchover Day Wisely (Back-To-Back Sailings): While everyone else is queueing up waiting to get on board this is a great time to fire up the app and snag all the event bookings you need before everyone else comes on.
