Sailors Notified & Compensation Offered

Sailors are beginning to receive notifications about the changes, as seen in discussions on the Brilliant Lady Facebook group. Both sailings are no longer available for booking on the Virgin Voyages website. Compensation offered to sailors is detailed below.

Option 1 – Rebook Any Ship, Any Date: With Price Guarantee

Choose a new voyage sailing from Miami from December 2025 – April 2026* and we will protect your original voyage fare, as long as it’s another itinerary up to 11 nights and in the same cabin category. Plus, we’ll still honor any previous promotions you had when you first booked, including your Bar Tab bonus. If the new date you choose costs less, we’ll refund the difference if you’ve already fully paid. And as an extra thank you for rebooking, we’ll give you $100 in Sailor Loot per cabin to enjoy onboard.

*excluding all New Years Eve voyages, Valiant Lady’s March 7 voyage, and Scarlet Lady’s March 22, March 27, and April 15 voyages

Option 2 — Future Voyage Credit or Refund: 100% of Your Paid Voyage Fare Back to You

Should you decide not to rebook at this time, you have the option to receive a future voyage credit or a full refund. If we do not hear from you by June 10, 2025, we will automatically provide you with a future voyage credit. Post this date, you can request a refund by contacting our Sailor Services crew.

Atlantis Charter

The January 15th sailing appears to have been chartered by Atlantis Events and runs until January 26th (now removed), leaving a smaller gap between January 26th and February 1st, 2026, that Virgin Voyages could potentially fill. A charter cruise involves an entire ship being reserved by one organization or group, with tailored experiences on board.

Prior Cancelations

This follows the recent cancellations of Valiant Lady sailings for the winter season, which were replaced by shorter voyages. While cancellations are rare, they can occur as cruise lines adjust their fleets or charter out certain sailings to meet demand.

Sailors affected by these cancellations are encouraged to reach out to their First Mate or Virgin Voyages directly for further information.

Brilliant Inaugural Season

Notably this is an odd cancelation given this is a brand new ship during her inaugural season. Many sailors were likely looking forward to seeing Brilliant Lady’s new offerings.

The January 4th 2026 & February 1st 2026 sailings, as well as the rest of the inaugural season are unaffected.

  1. Marcus says:

Did they cancel these cruises because someone else chartered the whole ship? If so, that’s pretty nasty to existing sailors.

    1. Rob Sammons says:

      Yes Atlantis Chartered it

    2. M says:

Pretty typical in the cruising world.
