Virgin Voyages UK Team Volunteers at Reuben’s Retreat as Charity Partnership Continues
Virgin Voyages’ UK sales team volunteers at Reuben’s Retreat in Glossop, continuing its charity partnership following a £24,000 skydive fundraiser.
Virgin Voyages’ UK sales team has continued its support for Reuben’s Retreat, spending a day volunteering at the charity’s premises in Glossop on October 23, 2026.
The visit follows a series of fundraising activities organized by Virgin Voyages and its travel industry partners during 2025. These included a sponsored skydive that raised more than £24,000 for the charity.
Virgin Voyages Team Helps at Reuben’s Retreat
UK Market Director SJ Walker was joined by Sales Managers Jenny Lyons and Kelly Green, alongside Business Development Manager Alan Fincham.
The team spent the day helping with several practical tasks around the property. These included cleaning, sorting donations, clearing storage areas and carrying out general maintenance.
The volunteering day forms part of Virgin Voyages’ ongoing partnership with Reuben’s Retreat, which began in 2025.
A further four members of the UK sales team are scheduled to visit on November 12 for a second volunteering day.
Continuing Support Following £24,000 Skydive Fundraiser
Virgin Voyages first announced Reuben’s Retreat as its chosen UK charity partner in January 2025.
In June 2025, the cruise line helped organize a major travel industry fundraising event involving 21 professionals who took part in a sponsored skydive.
The event, which included SJ Walker and Jack Atherton from Virgin Voyages, raised more than £24,000 for Reuben’s Retreat.
VV Insider previously covered the skydive and its fundraising goals ahead of the event.
Virgin Voyages has also supported the charity’s Brick by Brick campaign. This is helping fund the final phase of transforming a former hospital in Glossop into a purpose-built retreat.
The project includes four fully accessible family accommodation suites, providing a space for families to spend time together.

Building a Lasting Partnership
SJ Walker, UK Market Director at Virgin Voyages, explained why the team wanted to provide practical support alongside its fundraising activities.
“Reuben’s Retreat is a very special place, and every time we visit, we’re reminded of the extraordinary work the team does for families facing some of life’s most difficult circumstances.”
Walker added that the team wanted to do more than raise money, with everyday maintenance tasks also making a difference.
“Our partnership was never intended to be a one-off fundraising exercise. We want to build a lasting relationship with Reuben’s Retreat and support them in whatever way we can, whether that’s raising money, spreading awareness or simply rolling up our sleeves and getting stuck in.”

About Reuben’s Retreat
Reuben’s Retreat was founded in 2012 following the loss of 23-month-old Reuben Michael Graham.
The charity supports families who have experienced the loss of a child, as well as those caring for children with complex or life-limiting medical conditions.
Its work includes emotional support, activities and facilities designed to help families create memories together.
The ongoing redevelopment of its Glossop premises will provide additional accessible accommodation and spaces for families using the charity’s services.
