Virgin Voyages cabins offer flexibility, with configurations to suit different group sizes. Note that only selected cabins will sleep 3 or 4 sailors, check our cabin lookup tool and deck plans for more information.

Standard Cabins

Sleeps 2: Standard Setup

The standard cabin configuration features a queen-size bed, which consists of two single beds combined to create a double bed for two people.

How to Get a Good Night’s Sleep

With so much happening on board, rest is important. Here are some key tips:

  • Check Your Cabin Location: Use our Cabin Lookup Tool to find out if your cabin is in a noisy area. Some cabins near nightclubs or public spaces may be noisier, which can disrupt light sleepers. As long as you aren’t on an upgraded cabin or lock it in rate you are able to request a change pre-sail either via your First Mate or Sailor Services.
  • Provide Feedback: If you find your cabin particularly restful, let others know by leaving a comment through our tool.
  • Mattress Comfort: Beds in standard cabins are a combination of a sofa bed and a regular bed. While convenient, the mattress may feel firmer than some are used to. You can request a mattress topper from your cabin host to add extra comfort.
  • Flexible Setup: During the day, you can convert your bed into a sofa using the in-room tablet.

Hi. We have an XL sea terrace for 3.
Can the main queen be split apart to create two twin beds side by side. This means you have 3 twin beds since the couch makes into a L shaped twin bed.
Or, is the main queen bed fixed. Creating only a queen bed, and a twin sized couch bed. This forces two people sleep in same bed..
    Thanks!

    1. Rob Sammons says:

The individual pieces of the bed are split but it has to be the queen and couch bed you can see this in the pic above

  2. Heather says:

Is it possible to request a room with a Pullman bed and have the lower bed made into the sofa during the day? Does the Pullman stay down permanently? I am traveling with my dad on a dad and daughter trip, and want the most privacy while sleeping. We currently have a sea terrace room. Any suggestions?

    1. Rob Sammons says:

The Pullman folds up during the day, keep in mind housekeeping is very busy often tending to 20+ cabins each.

  3. Damara says:

Can a configuration be set up as part bed and part couch? Like only part of the L-shape gets set up with the sheets and duvet and the other part stays uncovered? Seems like it would maximize seating for solo travelers who don’t need the full queen size.

    1. Rob Sammons says:

Yes it can, it’ll just always need to be in the L config so the longer portion has to be the couch

      1. Melinda says:

Hi, This is good information for us solo sailors, thank you. One question, when you say the “longer portion has to be the couch”, do you mean the bed that is fully along the wall remains as a couch, OR do you mean that the sticking-out bed remains as a couch? I think it would be most logical to have the bed that is fully along the wall as a couch, so you have the back support for more than one person if any friends stop by.

        1. Rob Sammons says:

Hey Melinda, the portion along the wall has to remain a couch in this setup, you can’t have the bed sideways if that makes sense!

  4. Margaret Aghili says:

I have booked a shore thing in Valencia for 5.25 hours on Oct. 25th. It seems that it is raining and will continue to rain. Will the excursion be cancelled? I don’t fancy being on a small boat for 1.5 hours that day in the rain without cover.

    1. Rob Sammons says:

This isn’t related to the article, you’d need to speak to Sailor Services none of us at VV Insider can answer this question.

  5. Amari says:

How do you request for L shape before your voyage?

    1. Rob Sammons says:

You can call sailor services but it often doesn’t make it to the ship. Just ask your cabin host!

  6. Moria A Caples says:

I called my personal voyage planner to ask that my cabin have a mattress topper added to the bed for our sailing next week. I was informed Virgin does not offer mattress toppers?? This is widely shared on YouTube as an option so I wonder if they have stopped offering this?

    1. Rob Sammons says:

Ask on board this is a classic example of onshore team not knowing the onboard experience. Of note Brilliant doesn’t have a ton of them at this time. The other ships have them!

      1. Moria Caples says:

Thanks for the prompt reply! I will def ask~

      2. Joyce says:

Can the queen size bed be split not as an L but as two parallel lines with a separation in between

        1. Rob Sammons says:

No they’re stuck side by side or the L shape show above. You can request a single duvet and sheet.

  7. Tom says:

I note photographs of sea terrace rooms on Brilliant lady show just a convertible sofa and NO other bed eg on Cruisemapper. Are there any grades with actual beds? If only a sofa bed do cabin crew automatically reconfigure to sofa and then beech day?

    1. Rob Sammons says:

Brilliant Lady configs will be basically identically. Only ones with proper beds are Rockstar suites.

  8. Betsy Cross says:

Do you know if the couches open up on the Brilliant lady or are you sleeping on the blue part shown in the pictures? Wondering how comfortable they are if you have 3 in the room.

    1. Rob Sammons says:

The config for 3 will be the same on Brilliant Lady too. So either L shape and upper bed or double L shape.

  9. Jayson says:

Have a Central Sea Terrace, traveling with “just a friend” and we learned of this L-Configuration. We don’t want to sleep head to head, or head to feet. I suppose Feet to Feet is an option. Can you DYI a solution? Remove the chair (give it to staff, put on balcony or closet) and pull the mattress down the wall, then prop it up with luggage and pillows? Is there enough room to split it like standard cruse ships, even if you can’t get around the desk when configured that way. The L is not great for 2 adult travels who are friends.

    1. Rob Sammons says:

Hi Jayson there’s really no way around it as there is a flat box that the mattress sits on, there’s no legs to the bed, you can’t split it like a standard cruise ship annoyingly

  10. Lesley says:

Hi Rob, would you know if 10338Z Scarlet Lady and 10330Z Brilliant Lady have beds that face direction of travel? Thanks

    1. Rob Sammons says:

We don’t have that information widely available unfortunately. Easiest is to find a cabin and alternate

  11. Josh says:

Going on first Virgin cruise in October. Can you still request mattress topper if you want the bed split into two two?

    1. Rob Sammons says:

      Yes you can 🙂

  12. Richard Turko says:

We’re on the Resilient Lady and were told there are no alternative pillows.

    1. Rob Sammons says:

That’s a shame, that information is direct from Virgin Voyages FAQ
