Virgin Voyages’ Resilient Lady made a grand entrance into Sydney Harbour today, marking the start of an exciting summer season of 36 South Pacific voyages. The arrival of the Resilient Lady at around 5:30 pm local time was not just a momentous occasion but also the beginning of a series of unique events and voyages, bringing a new vibrancy to the Australian cruising scene.

The Start of the Australian Summer Season

The Resilient Lady’s docking at Sydney Harbour signifies the commencement of her summer schedule, featuring trips to enchanting destinations like Hobart, Tasmania, Burnie, and Auckland, New Zealand.

Sir Richard Branson’s Arrival

The festivities began earlier in the afternoon at 2:30 pm, with Sir Richard Branson making a remarkable circle of the ship via a small watercraft. His presence marked the official start of the celebrations and underlined the importance of this event for Virgin Voyages.

Sip of Sydney Event

The excitement continued into the evening with the ‘Sip of Sydney’ arrival event, held from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm. This event featured free-flowing champagne on the open deck, allowing sailors to toast the end of the ship’s 45-day journey from Athens, Greece. Sailors were given free bubbles and sangria to toast to Resilient Lady’s arrival to the Australian port.

Celebrating Virgin Voyages’ Arrival to Australia

The Happenings Cast and Virgin Voyages crew were instrumental in making the event memorable, adding to the celebratory atmosphere on board. The second Happenings Cast for Resilient Lady helped sailors welcome the ship to Australian shores by hosting special toasts and celebrations with guest. Most guests on board have sailed with Resilient Lady since the start of the crossing, 45 days ago in Athens Greece.

Open Ship Nights and Media Voyage

The week ahead is packed with activities, including Open Ship Nights in Sydney on December 5th and Melbourne on December 10th. These events offer an exclusive glimpse into the luxurious world of Virgin Voyages. The ship will remain in Sydney Harbour until Thursday, December 7th, after which it will embark on a special one-way press and media voyage to Melbourne.

Upcoming Voyages

The Resilient Lady’s first Aussie MerMaiden voyage is set to depart from Melbourne on December 11th. This voyage will explore destinations like Hobart and Burnie, with sailings continuing through March 27th. After the Australian season, the Resilient Lady will set sail back to Greece.

    We had a fabulous cruise but unfortunately left something behind in our cabin, we’re still in Sydney is there anyway we can get it back?

      The ship is still in port. We can’t say for certain but if you head to the port and make enquiries with security they may be able to assist. Otherwise you’re best to contact Sailor Services (contact details can be found on the official Virgin Voyages website).
