Virgin Voyages is setting the stage for an exciting year ahead with fresh innovations, new ships, and enhanced experiences for sailors. While a few previously promised updates have been delayed, there’s still plenty to look forward to. Here’s what’s coming in 2025:

1. Stable and Predictable Pricing

A key complaint of 2024 was the chaotic inconsistent pricing across the year. Virgin Voyages is transitioning away from dynamic pricing, introducing steady and predictable rates. Core pricing will align with similar sailings, allowing sailors to confidently plan their trips knowing that booking early ensures the best price.

2. New App Version

Although originally expected by the end of 2024, the rollout of Virgin Voyages’ much-anticipated onboard app has been delayed. However, the beta (testing) version of the app is set to launch soon, promising to streamline dining reservations and improve onboard convenience. Once available, this should significantly improve one of the key complaints of Virgin Voyages since launch: the terrible app!

3. New Dining Options

Menus across Virgin Voyages’ restaurants and the Galley are getting an upgrade in 2025. Scarlet Lady has already debuted an exciting new dining concept—Lucky Lotus by Razzle Dazzle—while other ships will see refreshed culinary options. As always, all dining is included, reinforcing Virgin’s reputation for having some of the best food at sea.

4. The Launch of Brilliant Lady

After a two-year delay, Brilliant Lady will finally join the fleet in September 2025. This ship will feature new entertainment and dining options while retaining the signature Virgin Voyages design. Additionally, in 2026, Brilliant Lady will be the first Virgin ship capable of navigating the Panama Canal, opening up exciting new routes.

5. More Itineraries and Ports

Virgin Voyages is expanding its offerings with over 30 new itineraries and visits to 25 new ports. Sailors can now choose voyage lengths ranging from 4 to 16 nights. Virgin Voyages will visit several new ports for the first time in 2025, these include Reykjavik (Iceland), Naples (Italy), Dublin (Ireland), Istanbul (Turkey), Porto (Portugal) and George Town (Grand Cayman).

6. More Diverse Entertainment

The entertainment lineup is expanding with updated shows, more live music, and additional comedy performances across the fleet. Virgin Voyages is committed to keeping entertainment fresh and varied, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy on board. 2024 saw the launch of new shows and parties including Love, Love, Love with The Hostess, Lights, Camera Drag with The Diva, LOLz Supper Club and Y2K Party.

7. Extended Booking Windows

Virgin Voyages had aimed to release sailings through spring 2027 by the end of 2024 but missed this deadline. Despite the delay, longer booking windows are still on the horizon and should be announced in the next few weeks. Once introduced, they will allow sailors to plan voyages more than two years in advance, giving plenty of time to secure their itineraries.

Overview

While some delays have occurred, 2025 promises to be an exciting year for Virgin Voyages with new ships, expanded itineraries, and improved experiences. It’s the perfect time to plan your next voyage, visit our booking website to get started!

Never been on a cruise before so I have nothing to compare it to. We found it to be quite amazing when we sailed 8 days in the eastern Caribbean end of January. So much so we booked another for August. I spoke with numerous other sailors who had sailed multiple other cruise lines and all said they would only now sail with Virgin. I am 66 and really didn’t think I would like a cruise. I envisioned long lines and too many people. The Scarlet lady never seemed crowded and there were plenty of spaces to spread out. We were Rockstars so we did get to go to the head of the line for shows, which was great. The staff, wow. Must be some great management because these people are happy and that transforms to excellent customer service. The food was unique and VERY good. We had overall the best service imaginable. You can never please everyone so some may prefer the typical cruise models. For us, no kids running around and no dressing up for dinner if you don’t want to makes Virgin the best choice for us. Can’t wait to go again this summer!

One thing I have been having difficulty with both for my upcoming cruise and on last years cruise is booking fitness classes. I wanted to do the bungee thing last time and NEVER was able to get in. I did have success getting into some spin classes but still: do you have any tips for getting the classes I want and is there any kind of info with details about each type of class offered either on the app or website?

    1. Rob Sammons says:

Basically you have to be on board as soon as possible but even then it’s often taken https://vvinsider.com/guides-and-faqs/guide/how-to-board-the-ship-early/

Bungee is just an incredibly limited class with about 6 slots total that’s why its so difficult to get in, keep checking regularly as people may cancel and also when it’s offered on port days it may be more readily available. We have some info on the example line-ups but no dedicated pages yet for the classes https://vvinsider.com/event-line-ups/

The New Year’s voyage on resilient lady was indeed one of a kind experience I would say the most difficult part of this complicated Cruise line with all its quirks and processes and knowing when wouldn’t how we clearly be the app. I understand that the app is being revamped but I think it should also include a space to put items that don’t always connect to your schedule. Or when a friend invite you to dinner but they are unable to include you but there’s room for you so you don’t forget that you have dinner. One thing that I did not see and it’s somebody can correct me if I’m wrong if I never really saw a map of where everything was every nook every cranny every small venue. I think I did see a map but it didn’t include everything. Virgin voyages have some work to do they are still young. But overall my voyage with all the ports of call was amazing

Right now Virgin is horrendous. From the food to the entertainment they fall WELL behind all the other cruise lines. I hated it!!!!!!

    1. Rob Sammons says:

That’s a shame to hear, which other lines do you prefer?

    2. Paula says:

😂😂 Not sure what ship you were on..but most will totally disagree. My 5 cruises were amazing..#6 booked.

We did the Resilient Lady , Auckland to Sydney. 12 night cruise, March 2024. Only 2 dinners, did we have hot food. One was Gunbae. There was so much chaos and disorganization, we wanted to leave the ship after the 5th day! The ship was almost at capacity and the weather on sea days was bad. 2550 pax squeezed into some of the smallest public spaces of any large cruise ship. The crew were NOT helpful. Some were friendly, but many were just going thru the motions. The entertainment for us was decent, just very difficult to get into the shows. Our worst cruise EVER! I keep waiting to see, if VV has improved the issues. So far, we have not seen or heard from friends of any improvements. The people who rave about Virgin Voyages are generally people who have never sailed on another cruise line. Because all the experienced cruisers we know, did VV once and won’t go back!

  5. Jenn & Chris says:

Hearing a lot about the show Persephone. Any news if this will be added to this itinerary? We are booked 3/2/25 on Scarlet Lady and super excited!

      1. Dee says:

The food is by far the best. All of your meals are free, even in the exclusive restaurant. Sorry for that you had a bad experience.

        1. JohnB says:

          @Dee
I did not find one meal that was superior to other cruise lines. Some meals in the Galley were decent, but I don’t go on a cruise to eat in a glorified buffet. Numerous meals, the food that was delivered to our table, was at room temperatures. One time, I had a fish dish that was frozen. It contained crab and and not being cooked was a food safety issue. I don’t know what cruise lines you sailed on that VV was superior, but in my 58 cruises, even Carnival did not serve me cold frozen food!
