Ship Eats Room Service Now Available on In-Room Tablets
Ship Eats Room Service is now available on in-room tablets, letting sailors order food and drinks without using the app. Take a look at the experience:
Virgin Voyages has added a new layer of convenience for guests with the introduction of Ship Eats ordering via the in-room tablet. As part of the ongoing rollout of the 2.0 app experience, this new feature allows guests to order food and drinks to their cabin without needing to use a mobile phone.
This is a welcome change for those who prefer to unplug during their voyage or don’t have the app installed, now, everything you need to place a room service order is just a few taps away on your cabin’s tablet.
How It Works
The interface on the tablet closely mirrors what you’d see in the Virgin Voyages app. You can:
- Select your cabin number (helpful if ordering from a shared tablet)
- Choose from a range of food and drink options, just like on the app
- Review your order history, so you can easily re-order favorites
The experience is clean, responsive, and makes it easy to order breakfast, snacks, or late-night bites without leaving your bed.

Room Service Rules Still Apply
The same conditions as regular ShipEats room service apply when ordering via the tablet:
- A delivery fee will be added to most orders unless you order $10 worth of drinks
- Certain menu items remain complimentary, while others have an additional charge
- Orders typically arrive within 30 to 45 minutes, depending on the time of day

2.0 App Progress and Android Release
This tablet functionality is part of the broader Virgin Voyages 2.0 app update. While the new version had a bumpy start, improvements have been rolling out regularly. Performance and reliability on iOS have noticeably improved, and the long-awaited Android version is now expected to arrive in September 2025 as announced during the Celebration Voyage.
