Alaska: The Main Event (May – September 2027)

7-Night Roundtrip Seattle Sailings

The core of Brilliant Lady’s Alaska season consists of weekly 7-night roundtrips from Seattle, hitting the essential Alaska ports plus glacier viewing. These itineraries are perfect if you’re working with limited vacation time but still want the full Alaska experience.

Alaska Glacier Blues & Coastal Views (7 nights) runs throughout the summer with seven departure dates. You’ll cruise the Inside Passage, visit Ketchikan and Sitka, experience Tracy Arm Fjord’s dramatic glacier scenery, and stop in Prince Rupert, BC before heading back to Seattle.

Available dates:

Alaska: Fjords & More (7 nights) offers a similar route with slightly different scheduling. Same ports—Ketchikan, Sitka, Tracy Arm Fjord, Prince Rupert—just optimized for different sailing dates.

Available dates:

There’s also a Seattle, Juneau & Canadian Coasts sailing on May 20, 2027 that swaps Sitka for Juneau, giving you access to Alaska’s capital city and Mendenhall Glacier area.

Extended Alaska: 9 to 12 Nights

If you want to go deeper into Alaska (literally), the extended itineraries add Hubbard Glacier (North America’s largest tidewater glacier) and additional ports like Juneau, Skagway, and Icy Strait Point.

Alaska: Vancouver to Seattle (9 nights, May 11) is a one-way positioning cruise starting in Vancouver. You’ll visit Juneau, Skagway, Hubbard Glacier, Icy Strait Point, and Ketchikan before ending in Seattle. Perfect if you’re already planning Vancouver time or want to explore British Columbia before your cruise.

Alaska: Glaciers & More (12 nights, August 12) is the crown jewel—Brilliant Lady’s longest Alaska itinerary. This comprehensive sailing hits all the major ports: Ketchikan, Sitka, Skagway, Haines, Juneau, and Icy Strait Point, plus both Hubbard Glacier and Tracy Arm Fjord. You’ll also get two full sea days and a stop in Victoria, BC. If you’re serious about Alaska and want maximum port variety, this is your sailing.

Alaska: Glaciers & More (9 nights, August 24) offers a slightly shorter version with Ketchikan, Icy Strait Point, Hubbard Glacier, Sitka, and Victoria before returning to Seattle.

Alaska: Seattle to Vancouver (8 nights, September 2) is the end-of-season positioning cruise, sailing one-way from Seattle to Vancouver with stops at Ketchikan, Sitka, Skagway, Tracy Arm Fjord, and Victoria. Great option if you’re planning to explore Canada after your cruise or want to catch early fall colors.

West Coast Repositioning & Mexican Riviera (September – October 2027)

After Alaska wraps, Brilliant Lady heads south for Mexican Riviera sailings out of Los Angeles. But first, there’s a special repositioning cruise worth considering.

Vancouver Down the Cali Coast (8 nights, September 10) is a one-way voyage from Vancouver to Los Angeles, stopping at Astoria (Oregon), San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Catalina Island, and San Diego. It’s essentially a West Coast sampler cruise—perfect for checking multiple cities off your list in one trip.

Hollywood Sunset & Mexican Horizons

The Hollywood Sunset & Mexican Horizons itinerary runs weekly from late September through mid-October, offering 8-night roundtrips from Los Angeles to Mexico’s Pacific coast. You’ll visit Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlán, and Puerto Vallarta, all with extended port times and those signature golden hour departures.

Available dates:

These Mexican Riviera sailings are ideal if you’re looking for warm weather, beach clubs, and vibrant nightlife—basically the opposite of Alaska’s wilderness focus but still with Virgin’s inclusive pricing and adults-only atmosphere.

Why Book Now

Virgin Voyages opened bookings on November 6, 2025, giving sailors nearly 18 months lead time for most sailings. Here’s why early booking makes sense for these itineraries:

Alaska sailings sell out: This is Brilliant Lady’s second Alaska season, and with limited 7-night options from Seattle compared to mega-ship competitors, cabin inventory will move quickly, especially for Sea Terraces (balconies) where you’ll want private outdoor space for glacier viewing.

Better cabin selection: The 12-night Alaska cruise on August 12 is likely to fill first since extended Alaska itineraries are rare. If you’re considering a suite or want a specific cabin location (midship, higher deck), booking early gives you the full inventory to choose from.

Lock in promotional pricing: Virgin Voyages runs promotions including discounts on second sailors and a 10% discount for sailors who pay-in-full. These deals typically apply to bookings made within specific windows, so booking soon after announcement often delivers the best value.

Pre-cruise planning time: Alaska requires more planning than typical beach cruises, you’ll want to research and book shore excursions, potentially add pre- or post-cruise hotel nights in Seattle or Vancouver, and think about extending your trip to explore more of the Pacific Northwest. Booking your cruise early gives you time to plan properly without rushing.

The Virgin Voyages Alaska Difference

Brilliant Lady brings something different to Alaska cruising. The adults-only policy means no kids fighting for deck space during glacier viewing. Always Included Luxury pricing (all restaurants, tips, basic drinks covered) simplifies budgeting when you’re already spending on excursions. And Virgin’s later port departures—often 8-9pm—give sailors more time ashore for hiking, wildlife tours, or exploring towns at your own pace.

The ship’s design also suits Alaska well. Multiple outdoor deck spaces, floor-to-ceiling windows in public areas, and Virgin’s focus on social spaces means you can enjoy the scenery whether you’re in a Sea Terrace or an Insider cabin. And after long port days exploring glaciers and forests, you’ll appreciate coming back to Brilliant Lady’s restaurants, bars, and evening entertainment.

How long now until we find out whether VV will send Brilliant Lady to SE Asia/Australia & NZ via Hawaii in November 2027 and not back via the Panama Canal?

Next round for Brilliant is likely March next year
