Do you know if there are any plans to roll this out to Europe sailings on Scarlet, sailing in June 🤞

    1. Rob Sammons says:

No info yet but the trial appears to have been successful numbers wise with some sailings sold out.

  2. Cathy Gallagher says:

We don’t drink alcohol but enjoy some non alcoholic cocktails and zero beers, the bar tab and s perfect for us. Don’t like the idea of having to purchase a drinks package

    1. Stephanie Dawson says:

I agree 100%!!! Yes my husband and enjoy tasty libations but not $95/daily worth. Because we booked MNVV we had $500 total of Bar Tab given to us for an 8 night cruise and still left $100 on the table.

      1. Becky Sonntag says:

I hope they do not stopping giving bar tab, but if they go to the unlimited, I am guessing it too may be a thing of the past.

  3. Jo says:

For me, the bar tab was perfect! As a very light drinker, I mostly used mine for the coffee. It also helped me to budget
No way could I drink $95 per day!

  4. Scott says:

Will not be using. Increased intoxicated passengers, crowded bars, less engaged and tired bartenders, and potentially higher drink prices in the future. Unlimited with the ability to get 2 drinks with each order means a couple in one cabin can ‘share the cost’ with a couple in another cabin. The 4-5 day sailings are going to be a booze fest.

  5. Lorraine says:

Dont like the idea of buying a drinks package much prefer the way it works now buying what you want sharing a bottle of gin one night & maybe slacking a bit following day. Also as a sea blazer I get a generous $125 on every $300 bar tab a perk that makes me feel my early uptake (first week out of Portsmouth Aug 2021) with the fledgling cruisline is valued .

  6. James Glanville says:

Doesn’t seem like a great value. Only for sailors in Rockstar suites. $95 night per person in 2 person cabin = $190 a day. on select March cruises that 4 or 5 nights long => $760 on 4 night cruise or $950 on 5 night cruise. Can’t be transferred to others and drinks must be $20 or less. You could buy a $750 bar tab with a $175 bonus = $925 worth of drinks…with no $ limit on any drink.

    1. Rob Sammons says:

It’s not just rockstar suites anymore that’s part of the extended trial

    2. Fox says:

You calculation assumes that people won’t drink more than the $95 daily cost though. I easily drink more than that, assuming I would spend $150 I get $55 ‘free’ each day so over 5 days that’s $275 free -, which is better than the relevant bar tab bonus.

  7. Lara HG says:

Having sailed MRS last year, it was so nice to not think about keeping an eye on a bar tab. Just ordered what we wanted and not worry about it. It also allowed us to try stuff we’d never typically try. If we didn’t like something, no big deal, just don’t drink it. Sailing RS in a few months, and have been minorly stressing on how much bar tab to buy, and not worry about not using it all. That’s where I don’t understand why some think people will over indulge with an unlimited package. That isn’t the ccatalyst. I’ve read so many comments where people over indulge the last few days because they have x amount to still spend on the bar tab because they don’t want to leave money on the table. People who overdo it, are going to overdo it regardless of a bar tab or a package. It’s a model that works, otherwise there wouldn’t be all inclusive resorts. I for one just like the idea of set it and forget it, rather than monitoring the app regularly to make sure my charges are correct before disembarkation.

  8. Britt M. says:

I’ve cruised Virgin before, very lovely experience I felt that the bar tab helps sailors drink responsibly, idk abt this drink package, i understand its a common complaint buuut….I worry it will make certain guests over drink just to get their $95 a day worth….when I sailed i had abt 3-5 cocktails/ pressed juices a day and at the end of my 5 day that was abt $200 in bar tab? (I got a bit of a bonus bcuz i prepaid) soooo with this package for someone to get their $$ worth thats A LOT of drinks and ppl can get kinda sloppy if u kno what I mean

  9. Stephanne says:

HATE package idea. Been on 10 VV cruises because no kids, no alcohol package. Don’t do it.. its terrible idea.

  10. Nadia says:

I don’t like that it has to be purchased by everyone in the cabin.

  11. Nicole Torres says:

I hate this so much if this is going to eventually replace the bar tab. I dislike drink packages on other cruise lines because, as someone who isn’t a heavy drinker, I couldn’t justify the cost. My partner felt the same, so the smaller bar tab with Virgin allowed us to enjoy a few drinks without the pressure to drink daily. We chose Virgin repeatedly because it offered a more flexible experience.

    1. Rob Sammons says:

There’s no indication that Bar Tab will go away given for most you’d need to buy the $1000 Bar Tab for a 5 night to justify this!

  12. Melissa Sanchez says:

For those that purchased prior & have a bar tab credit., how will it work ? Will it go towards the package or be switch to sailor loot

    1. Rob Sammons says:

They’d refund any purchased Bar Tab as that’s fully refundable anyway, promotional Bar Tab can be used (excluding Deep Blue Extras Bar Tab), there’s some info in the terms 🙂

      1. Abby says:

Are you sure? The terms say “Purchased Bar Tab Credits will not be refunded or applied to this offer.” So if someone has already purchased a bar tab, they will not be refunded and can not be applied to this Offer is my understanding

        1. Rob Sammons says:

The terms for Bar Tab make it refundable
