Virgin Voyages Pay-In-Full Discount Explained

Virgin Voyages’ Pay In Full discount requires booking 365 days in advance, offering 10% off voyage fares for eligible cabins when paid upfront.

Virgin Voyages offers a Pay-In-Full discount for travelers who prefer to pay the entire cost of their cruise at the time of booking. When the requirements are met, the cruise line applies a 10% reduction to the voyage fare.

To qualify for this discount, bookings must now be made and paid in full at least 365 days before the sailing date. This means anyone planning to use the offer needs to book well in advance and complete payment shortly after making the reservation.

How the Pay-In-Full Discount Works

The Pay-In-Full discount is designed for those who want to secure their cruise and pay the full balance immediately. When the conditions are met, Virgin Voyages automatically applies a 10% reduction to the voyage fare during the booking process.

Because the discount requires payment shortly after booking and more than a year before sailing, it mainly benefits travelers who plan their trips well in advance.

Eligibility Requirements

To receive the Pay-In-Full discount, a booking must meet the following conditions:

  • The reservation must be made at least 365 days before the sailing date.
  • The entire invoice must be paid within two hours of booking.
  • The Pay-In-Full option must be selected during the checkout process.

The payment must cover the full invoice amount, including the voyage fare, taxes, fees, and optional voyage protection.

Applicable Discounts

The 10% reduction applies only to the voyage fare. Taxes, fees, and optional add-ons such as shore excursions are not discounted.

The Pay-In-Full discount can also be combined with several other offers that Virgin Voyages commonly runs throughout the year, including percentage-off-the-second-sailor promotions and placeholder credits.

Eligible Cabins

The following cabin categories qualify for the Pay-In-Full discount:

Planning Ahead

Because the discount requires booking more than a year in advance, it works best for travelers who plan their cruises early.

Virgin Voyages typically releases itineraries several years ahead of departure, giving travelers time to take advantage of the Pay-In-Full discount if they are comfortable paying upfront.

When booking, ensure the selected cabin category is eligible and choose the Pay-In-Full option during checkout so the discount is applied automatically.

What if you pay in full and then need to cancel? How does the pay in full offer impact flexibility for the traveler?

    1. Rob Sammons says:

You’d have the standard Virgin Voyages cancellation policy

      1. Howard says:

The standard cancellation policy states that you would get all except the deposit back. But if paying in full, there is no deposit? How does this work?

        1. Rob Sammons says:

Same policy. A deposit is 20% of the voyage value so that goes t o Future Voyage Credit up to 120 days 🙂

  2. Barbara says:

So if you book less than a year out you don’t get a benefit for paying in full? This doesn’t make sense if you’re booking less than a year out or a last minute cruise. I am not sure why this was something Virgin needed to change.

    1. Rob Sammons says:

Correct, when they re-introduced it was 180 days which was much fairer

I mentioned this to Nathan and a couple of others on the celebration voyage a few days ago and said that I deliberately don’t pay in full as the money is better for me in my bank than theirs… I suggested perhaps having a 5% discount for paying in full from 6-12 months in advance (or some other perk) but they didn’t seem that interested. I guess now voyages are selling well without it they won’t reintroduce it…

does the discount no longer apply to solo inside cabins?

    1. Rob Sammons says:

When they re-introduced the offer in November it didn’t include solo insiders 🙁 the original version possibly did https://vvinsider.com/virgin-voyages-launches-new-wave-2025-offer-with-big-savings/

  4. LaToya says:

I received a pay in full discount on a MRS cabin in 2023. Are those cabin types no longer able to receive this discount?

    1. Rob Sammons says:

Nope 🙁 they removed this when they reintroduced it a few months ago
