Virgin Voyages is testing a new beverage package for guests staying in RockStar Quarters only on select Valiant Lady sailings in March 2025. The Drink Like a VIP offer provides unlimited access to premium drinks at bars, restaurants, and Bimini Beach Club for $95 per person per night. This is effectively mimicking the experience of Mega Rockstar suites unlimited drinks package.

What is the Drink Like a VIP Package?

This package is available only to those booked in a RockStar or Lock It In RockStar cabin, and all guests within the same cabin must purchase it. The package includes:

  • Up to two drinks per order, with a $20 price limit per drink unlike Mega Rockstar which is $25
  • Access to premium beverages, including cocktails, beer, wine, barista-made coffee, cold-pressed juices, smoothies, energy drinks, and kombucha
  • Availability at all onboard bars and restaurants, plus Bimini Beach Club

Overview

The Drink Like a VIP package is non-transferable and limited to the individual purchasing it. Misuse, including sharing drinks with others, may result in the package being revoked. Sailors can purchase this offer through their Virgin Voyages account, and payment must be completed within 24 hours of adding it to a booking.

It’s unclear if Virgin Voyages plans to expand this trial to other sailings or cabin categories in the future.

If it’s not broken don’t try and fix it. This is just another nail in the coffin of VV.

  2. Dale says:

Ridiculous. Yet another move to Virgin becoming a mainstream cruise line. Idea likely originated from one of the private equity venture capitalists at Bain & Company.

  3. Scarlet01 says:

Not looking forward to the belligerence and fights that often occur with “unlimited” drinks, especially on the shorter 4-5 day sailings. I’m feeling sorry for the crew already.

    1. Jon says:

Rockstar cabins are already often twice the price of other cabins, also come with an unlimited happy hour and a well stocked in room bar. If the people paying for those rooms wanted to get super drunk they could anyway.

  4. Marco says:

It really diminishes the MRS category. The drink package is a big draw in MRS, especially for those without any comped Bar Tab (which our upcoming sailing we have $100 each due to DBE. If continues, I would most likely to only book Rock Star. It really might get rid of Richard’s Rooftop cocktail hour. Defeats the purpose of this event. Time will tell –

    1. Rob Sammons says:

Agreed and whilst the drinks are less value, no unlimited Moët for example. No real reason for someone in say a brilliant suite to go to a gorgeous suite. Not at current pricing.

  5. Ryan says:

On the surface it sounds great! But considering there is already so much included (especially for those in RS with DBE) it may not work out great value for those light or moderate drinkers.

I had $1100 bar tab on my last 11 night voyage so this would have been $2.2k extra. With the Sunset hour drinks we struggled to spend all our bar tab, we even bought 1 bottle of $150 champagne and a $65 glass of Dom on the last night. We also didn’t even touch our in room bar! For those who want to splash out, go for it, especially on those shorter sailings you might make it worth while.

    1. Jon says:

I agree, the most we might spend is about $60 per person per day as we have all the other rockstar perks like the happy hour and in room bar. I don’t see us buying this as it wouldn’t be worthwhile. In fact I think VV are hoping people pre-pay and then actually drink significantly less than $95 worth.

      1. Chad says:

Drink packages exist to help profitability. There is a reason it’s only for RS or MRS. Every other category would rob them blind with the drink package.
