This month sees the launch of the VV Insider Deck Plan Tool, a new free resource designed to make exploring the Virgin Voyages Lady Ships considerably easier.

The tool lets you move between decks and select individual cabins and venues to see more information immediately. It works across phones, tablets and desktop computers, helping you understand the layout of your ship without repeatedly zooming, scrolling or searching across several different websites.

Whether you are choosing a cabin before booking, checking the location of an assigned cabin or familiarizing yourself with the ship before embarkation, the Deck Plan Tool brings everything together in one place.

Explore All Four Virgin Voyages Lady Ships

Interactive deck plans are available for every ship in the current Virgin Voyages fleet:

Select your ship and use the deck controls to explore the complete layout from the lower passenger decks to the outdoor spaces at the top of the ship.

Why We Built a Better Deck Plan

Virgin Voyages provides deck plans for each of its ships as downloadable PDF documents. These are useful references, but navigating a large ship plan inside a PDF can be difficult, particularly on a phone.

Finding something often means zooming into the document, scrolling around the deck and trying to identify a small cabin number or venue label. Once you find it, you may then need to search elsewhere for cabin information, potential drawbacks, venue details or food and drink menus.

We wanted to create a deck plan designed specifically for how sailors actually plan their voyages.

Each original deck plan has therefore been meticulously reconstructed, labeled and connected to VV Insider’s existing library of cabin and venue information. The result is an interactive tool that turns the traditional static deck plan into a more useful part of the voyage-planning process.

Built with a Public Digital Services Ethos

The VV Insider Deck Plan Tool was designed and built by VV Insider co-founder David Todd, combining his background in public service design with his detailed knowledge of the Virgin Voyages fleet.

A principle commonly applied when designing public digital services is:

“Do the hard work to make it easy for our users.”

Tap Any Cabin or Venue to Learn More

Instead of treating the deck plan as a static image, the new tool makes individual cabins and venues interactive.

Select a cabin to see useful information such as:

  • The cabin category and maximum occupancy
  • Known advantages and potential drawbacks
  • Additional information about the cabin’s location
  • A link to the complete cabin page
  • Available photos, reviews and sailor feedback

Select a restaurant, bar or other venue to access further details, including available menus and our complete venue guides.

This makes it easier to answer practical questions while looking directly at the ship layout. You can see what might be above or below your cabin, how far it is from an elevator or where a particular restaurant is in relation to other venues.

See Your Cabin in the Context of the Ship

The interactive deck plans are also available throughout VV Insider’s Cabin Lookup Tool.

When viewing an individual cabin page, you can use the deck plan to see exactly where that cabin is located in relation to the rest of the ship.

This provides useful context that a cabin number alone cannot offer. You can quickly understand whether the cabin is toward the front, middle or back of the ship, which venues are nearby and how its position compares with other cabins on the same deck.

Together with our cabin pros and cons, sailor photos and guest reviews, this gives you a more complete picture before selecting or accepting a cabin.

Help Us Continue Improving the Tool

The tool joins our growing collection of original planning tools, including the VV Insider Cabin Lookup Tool and Bar Tab Calculator. Reconstructing four ships and connecting thousands of cabins and venues is a substantial undertaking. Although we have carefully reviewed the plans and their associated information, there may still be details that need adjusting as ships and venues change.

When you spot something that appears incorrect or have a suggestion that would make the Deck Plan Tool more useful, let us know.

Feedback from real sailors has already helped make our Cabin Lookup Tool one of VV Insider’s most detailed resources. The same community knowledge will help us maintain and improve the Deck Plan Tool for future sailors.

Start exploring your ship today using the new VV Insider Deck Plan Tool.
