As spotted by Virgin Voyages Redditors and verified by VV Insider, Scarlet Lady should add over 20 new Seriously Suite Rockstar cabins during its upcoming dry dock. Taking place from November 14 to November 28, 2024, this renovation will see several cabins on Deck 11 transformed with new suites replacing some of the Central Sea Terrace cabins. These changes will expand the number of Rockstar suites, offering more sailors the chance to experience these luxury accommodations.

As we had previously reported, Deck 13 had been removed from sale for all sailings post-dry dock, leading to speculation about possible changes. However, the deck is now back on sale. Virgin Voyages has chosen to utilize Deck 11 for additional Rockstar suite capacity instead, leaving Deck 13 unchanged for now.

Cabin Conversions on Deck 11

VV Insider has verified that the following Central Sea Terrace cabins on Deck 11 will be converted into Seriously Suites:

  • Cabins 11218A to 11286A
  • Cabins 11218Z to 11278Z

Each Seriously Suite will take up the space of approximately two Sea Terrace cabins creating 23 total cabins (at this time 11286Z does not appear to be offered but is likely the 24th suite). These new suites are already available for booking on all sailings after November 28th, provided there is remaining availability. Once confirmed we will update our Cabin Lookup Tool to reflect the changes.

Virgin Voyages has not provided official confirmation of this change at this time. Discussion of these changes came from Virgin Voyages’ Sip and Ships talk during a recent Celebration Voyage. Sailors onboard reported that executives mentioned that several Sea Terraces would be converted into suites during the dry dock.

Seriously Suite Features

The Seriously Suite is one of the entry-level Rockstar suites and includes a number of perks designed to elevate the experience for sailors. Each suite features a king-size bed, a large marble-tiled bathroom, and additional balcony space. Sailors staying in these suites will also enjoy the standard Rockstar perks, such as access to Richard’s Rooftop and priority boarding.

Future Dry Docks and Ships

Although Brilliant Lady, launching in 2025, will not have additional cabins due to her original design, future Virgin Voyages ships will likely follow similar upgrade paths. Valiant Lady is scheduled for a dry dock in 2026, and Resilient Lady will potentially follow in 2028.

More Rockstars will make getting dining reservations (especially 7-730PM time slots) even more difficult to get. Just another reason for me to not chose VV…

  2. Barb says:

Too bad they couldn’t address the tiny pool to make it larger.

    1. JohnB says:

Major design error! No other large cruise ship has a pool this small! Even worse is all 4 ships have the same small pool!

  3. Laura says:

Hope they keep Razzle Dazzle, I do enjoy that menu. There are already Asian options in the Galley. If they mix restaurants up across the fleet that might be interesting.

    1. Jon says:

Or they could then use some of the Razzle Dazzle menu options in the Galley, like fried chicken or smoked pastrami.

  5. Bob says:

I am not crazy about almost 50 additional people having access to Richards rooftop. One of the things that appealed to me, and thereby coerced me into spending more money for a Mega Rockstar Suite was the ability to hang out in a space that would not be crowded. Will be interesting to see how this impacts the cruise for me.

Really the busiest time is during the Happy Hour it’s fairly dead outside of that. Only other time I’ve seen it super busy is when arriving into an important port like Sydney for example.

  6. Lara H says:

I’ll be interested to see the changes for cold weather cruises. I’m booked for one of the Iceland trips

    1. Rob Sammons says:

It is just a rumor but hopefully some adjustments particularly with Iceland!
