Brilliant Lady One Year to Go Celebration
In September, Virgin Voyages hosted an extravagant celebration in New York City to mark the one-year countdown to Brilliant Lady’s debut. The event, held at Virgin Hotels New York, brought together hundreds of guests to celebrate the forthcoming fourth ship in the Virgin Voyages fleet. Sir Richard Branson, Founder of Virgin Group, expressed his excitement, highlighting the cruise line’s growth and how Brilliant Lady will continue the brand’s tradition of delivering incredible travel experiences.
Starting in 2025, Brilliant Lady will sail from New York and explore destinations across the U.S., including Miami, the California coast, and Alaska. Sailors can expect new entertainment options, fresh dining experiences, and innovative cabin designs to make their journey one to remember. The countdown has officially begun!

Triple Growth in the UK
Virgin Voyages is marking a major milestone with triple-digit growth in the UK over the past year. The success comes as the cruise line wraps up its 2024 UK season with several sold-out sailings. On September 29th, Resilient Lady will depart from UK shores after a successful summer, solidifying Virgin Voyages’ presence in the market.
Nirmal Saverimuttu, CEO of Virgin Voyages, acknowledged to Travel Weekly that the brand initially struggled with its marketing, but improvements based on trade feedback have paid off. By introducing itineraries designed with UK cruisers in mind, such as departures from Portsmouth and slightly longer Caribbean routes, the brand has attracted more attention. Saverimuttu also noted that while the brand is growing globally, the UK is outpacing other markets due to the brand’s focused efforts in the region.

Beer Joins The Wake Bottomless Brunch
Virgin Voyages has expanded its The Wake bottomless brunch menu in the past few months to include ales and lagers, giving sailors even more options to enjoy during their brunch experience. For $25 (currently), sailors can enjoy two hours of unlimited drinks, which can also be covered using Bar Tab. While the beer selection may vary by location, the current menu features Heineken Lager and Affligem Blonde Ale. Laundry Price Increases
Virgin Voyages has introduced a significant price hike for laundry services, with costs rising by up to 83%. The price for a bag of laundry has jumped from $30 to $55, while pressing individual items has increased from $4 to $7. This increase comes on the heels of a rise in onboard drink prices earlier this year, reflecting an upward trend in onboard spending for Sailors. Those in the Sailing Club with relevant perks will continue to receive laundry benefits. We’ve updated our Laundry guide and information to reflect the price changes.
