Virgin Red has expanded its offering of Caribbean sailings this winter, adding more voyages aboard Virgin Voyages’ Lady Ships. These new sailings, available from October to December 2024, start at 140,000 Virgin Points. Each voyage also comes with the added perk of a $100 Bar Tab.

Virgin Red, the Virgin Group’s loyalty program, allows members to earn and spend Virgin Points across the Virgin family of brands, including Virgin Voyages. Points can be redeemed for a range of experiences across the Virgin Group. Earlier this year, they brought back Virgin Voyages as a redemption option.

Terms and Conditions

This offer is available exclusively to Virgin Red members and applies to new bookings only. Virgin Red is facilitating the redemption of Virgin Points, but bookings are made directly with Virgin Voyages.

Bookings are for Access Keys (promo codes), which will be issued within three working days after redeeming your points. Each Access Key is valid for a Sea Terrace or Central Sea Terrace cabin, subject to availability at the time of booking. Virgin Red members may book up to four cabins, and all members of the booking party must check in together. Cabin upgrades are not allowed at the time of booking with an Access Key but may be upgraded via the bidding system only.

Overview

Sailors using Virgin Points to book these Caribbean cruises should note that they cannot combine these bookings with the Virgin Voyages Sailing Club, meaning they will not earn or receive rewards such as Deep Blue Extras.

Capacity is limited, so sailors are encouraged to book quickly. Available cabin types will either be a Sea Terrace or a Central Sea Terrace, depending on availability. Sailors will receive a promo code (Access Key) to finalize their booking.

You CANNOT upgrade Virgin Red points Access Key bookings, except through the Level Upgrade bidding process. I tried repeatedly on a Virgin Red points booking that I sailed this August. XL Sea Terraces and suites were available and I was willing to pay the difference. VV reps repeatedly told me that they value Access Key bookings at $0 toward an upgrade.

    1. Hi Mary that’s correct you have to upgrade using the bidding process rather than paying any difference, will clarify 🙂

Yes one thing that keep hidden is there are no perks when using points through Red for VV.
