Virgin Voyages Announces 2026 World Cup & Super Bowl Sailings
Virgin Voyages announced World Cup and Super Bowl sailings, with fleetwide viewing parties planned across the fleet as part of a broader sports push.
Virgin Voyages has announced plans to host onboard viewing parties tied to two of the biggest sporting events on the calendar, the 2026 World Cup and the Super Bowl.
The move follows earlier conversations this year, when the cruise line said it would begin leaning further into sports focused moments onboard, even though live sport has not traditionally been a core part of the brand’s entertainment offering.
World Cup Sailings Planned for Summer 2026
The 2026 FIFA World Cup is scheduled to run from June 11 through July 19, 2026. Virgin Voyages has said it will host World Cup viewing parties fleet-wide during the tournament, effectively creating what many sailors will see as World Cup sailings. Any voyage taking place during this window should expect organized screenings for key matches and likely have some additional event programming & food updates.
As the tournament progresses, larger games and the final are likely to be shown in the Red Room, using its large screen and layout to create a more stadium style viewing experience. Earlier stage matches may appear across multiple venues, depending on ship schedules.
Virgin Voyages has not officially confirmed which specific sailings will feature World Cup programming, nor has it released a match by match viewing schedule. Coverage may also vary based on region and satellite availability.

Super Bowl Sailings Confirmed for February 2026
The Super Bowl will take place on Sunday, February 8, 2026. Virgin Voyages has highlighted plans for Super Bowl viewing parties, particularly on early February sailings departing from Miami.

Speciality Game Day Menu Highlight
Virgin Voyages’ culinary team often tailors food offerings for major onboard events. For screenings of curated moments like the American football championship at sea, one standout menu item is available exclusively to this event.
“Meatball sliders with provolone and pickled red onions,” says the cruise line’s Director of Culinary Program Development, noting they are designed for easy one-handed eating during game viewing. These sliders may be available in social venues hosting the screening, such as The Social Club and The Athletic Club.

A More Visible Push Into Live Sports
While Virgin Voyages does not position itself as a sports led cruise line, it has been making live sport more visible onboard. Games are regularly shown in venues such as the Social Club and Athletic Club, and the cruise line has started listing game times outside venues when major events are scheduled. The latest push into themed voyages around these events shows a bigger commitment to sports.
We break down how sports viewing works onboard, including where games are usually shown and what sailors should check during their voyage.
Sailors should always check the Event Line Up once onboard, as schedules can change during the voyage. If a major match is not listed, it is still worth asking Sailor Services what will be shown and where.
