Virgin Voyages Promotes ‘Book Early & Save’

Virgin Voyages is reaffirming that booking early is the best value, with lowest launch fares, more cabin options, and stackable perks.

Virgin Voyages is continuing to promote a clear message in 2025: the best time to book is when new itineraries go on sale.

Recent sailor and First Mate updates have reaffirmed that fares are lowest at launch and are designed to increase over time. The goal is to provide more consistency after a year where pricing felt unpredictable.

More Stable Pricing

One of the commitments made for this year was to make pricing more stable and easier to understand. While prices will still vary based on demand, Virgin Voyages is working toward a model where similar sailings follow a consistent base rate.

Rather than focusing on last-minute sales, the emphasis is now on booking early to secure the best value and the most cabin choice. Note: If for whatever reason a cabin does reduce in price sailors should be able to re-price once but may lose stacked promotions and loot.

Why Book When Itineraries Launch

Virgin Voyages has outlined several reasons to plan ahead:

  • Lower fares are available when sailings first go on sale
  • There’s more cabin and suite availability early on
  • Introductory rates can be combined with other offers

The next launch will be in August with Summer 2027 Europe sailings.

Weekly Sail & Save offer’s still run, but only applies to Lock-It-In rates. These come with higher restrictions and don’t allow you to select a cabin, so while they offer savings, they don’t suit everyone and can’t be stacked with any promotions.

Sailings booked more than 12 months in advance qualify for a 10 percent Pay-In-Full Discount. Group (8+ cabins) bookings made 180 days ahead can access up to $300 in Bar Tab credit and an additional 10 percent off.

Sailing Club $100 Bar Tab

Virgin Voyages is also continuing its Sailing Club loyalty Bar Tab boost, offering $100 in additional credit during the first two weeks of a new itinerary release, this is typically communicated via an access key discount code or can be added by Sailor Services. This also applies to all members of the Sailing Club as long as you have sailed before, for Deep Blue Extras sailors this adds an extra $100 on top of your existing loyalty offer. This currently applies to Valiant Lady’s 2026 Europe sailings until June 19.

So, if the price goes down. We can try and get the lower fare. Even on paid in full for a 2026 cruise.

    1. Rob Sammons says:

      Yes you can reprice once

  2. Daisy says:

I will be watching, to see if this works before taking another VV cruise. It’s such a gamble booking so far in advance and being limited to one price drop. Some of the cruises this summer have dropped multiple times. With offers such as solo sailor balconies at the last minute and “kids sail free”. I am so put off by the huge deposits required, especially when booking more than one cabin.

    1. Rob Sammons says:

The sailings this Summer were priced too highly last year they’ve acknowledged that. Definitely if you look ahead to 2026/2027 pricing is fairer.

  3. Active Foodie says:

Rob, there is a site called Cruiseplum that tracks and records in graph form daily prices on all cruise ships. Most Virgin cruises start high and go down in price.

    1. Rob Sammons says:

This is the guidance given for new itineraries and tbh the pricing is starting reasonably these days vs last year.

We track pricing on each itinerary too 😉 vvinsider.com/book

It might be best however my Greek Island glow trip which I booked 10 months before sailing (haven’t gone yet) just dropped $1400

    1. Rob Sammons says:

For the same cabin rate? Virgin Voyages does allow re pricing a voyage once.

      1. Stephanie says:

        yes

      2. Stephanie says:

it was 95 days before sailing so i got stuck with a 1400. future cruise credit

        1. Rob Sammons says:

You can use the credit for the current cruise if you call them. Can buy excursions, sailor loot, bar tab etc!
