What’s Changing

The refreshed titles remove the iconic themed Virgin Voyages names and instead emphasize key regions such as the Western and Eastern Caribbean, along with signature stops like the Beach Club at Bimini. According to Virgin Voyages these location-focused names make it easier for sailors to understand and search for voyages that match their interests.

Next Steps

The first set of changes takes effect immediately, with the remainder rolling out through Q4. Virgin Voyages plans to continue this naming approach in other regions in future updates.

    Exactly

  2. Juel Carson says:

I actually liked the uniqueness of the different names . It actually gave it flare & excitement to me. The new names are just basic not thrilling.
But….hey….I guess it was time for change

  3. George M Williams says:

Are they going to simplify the menus next to meat, seafood, vegetables, and pasta?

  4. Gary D says:

Perhaps I’m in the minority, but a different name for every sailing to a similar area is not “iconic”, it’s just confusing.

A descriptive but somewhat reusable itinerary name is fine with me. But it’s not how I search for cruises anyway

  5. Lucy says:

The chief marketing guy is a failure at marketing

  6. Anna Steinberg says:

Well that’s boring. I hope Virgin isn’t going to keep making so many of these changes. It’s taking away some of the things that made it so unique and special in the first place! After my 1st cruise I said that I only wanted to sail Virgin from then on… but with all these corporate-like changes, people are going to start going elsewhere, and I may actually be tempted to try others out as well.

    1. Paula says:

Why oh Why does Virgin keep changing unique “Virgin” things to be more like other cruise lines?? Don’t they realize we are there BECAUSE they AREN’T like other cruise lines??

  7. JP says:

Who the heck came up with this?! These are so generic and all sound the same– makes it much harder to figure out the itinerary at a glance. I’m starting to get nervous with all of these changes Virgin keeps making. Next thing you know they’ll get replace the Happenings Cast with a generic cruise director 🙁

    1. Andy A says:

They’ve already stripped away a lot of what made the happenings cast fun and unique.

Every boiler suit looks the same now, no bathing suits or speedos, or even male presenting members with a little gender fluid flare like makeup, high waisted pants or heels.

Red Hot has the feel of a Celebrity Entertainment musical revue. There’s nothing new, edgy or fun about it.

What made Virgin, well, Virgin, is now just turning into MSC mixed with Celebrity.

A company that used to break down barriers is starting to put them back up, just like a wall at a border.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see them sell of in a couple years.

  8. Alisha says:

This sucks. Virgin continue to make changes for the worse, its now becoming so soulless and corporate

  9. MJ says:

How is that a good idea? The old names at least gave a sense of the ports but now you’ll have to delve into each itinerary to see where the cruise is stopping … the old names were cool, this isn’t Virgin 🙁

    1. CC says:

Agreed! And made it easy to know if you were on a special sailing (Valentine, Halloween…). Not a good change, so many ports in Western Caribbean 🤦‍♀️
