Good Points About Cabin 10354Z

  • pro Has an iconic red hammock

Cabin 10354Z has an iconic red hammock on the balcony. This is a great place to relax and enjoy the view.

  • pro Has a glass balcony

Cabin 10354Z’s balcony railings are made of glass. As opposed to some cabins closer to the edges of the deck plan that have steel railings. This glass railing allows for a better view of the ocean when sitting down.

Bad Points About Cabin 10354Z

  • con Walk to elevators / lifts

This cabin is farther from the elevators and lifts than others, so it might take a bit longer to reach the onboard venues. However, Virgin Voyages ships are not as large as some other cruise ships.

Cabin 10354Z Location

View Deck 10 Plan

The ’Z’ in the cabin number means it is on the starboard side of the ship (right of the ship if you’re looking straight forward). This can sometimes be important if you’re doing a repositioning voyage like a Transatlantic crossing as it will determine if you will have the sunshine or not.

About Cabin Category ‘XL Sea Terrace’

Designed for guests seeking extra space, the Sea Terrace XL offers an expanded living area, about 30% more than the standard terraces. It includes a spacious bathroom with separate chambers for the toilet and rainshower for additional privacy. The double vanity and extra storage cater to the needs of guests who prefer more room for their personal belongings. Of note some of these cabins may not include the iconic hammock and have metal balconies due to their proximity to the front or rear of the ship.

We just returned from staying in this cabin on Resilient Lady. This was our 10th cruise but first with Virgin. We were a little apprehensive about the design/decor as we’re used to traditional staterooms with more drawers, couches, desks, etc.

We LOVED this room! We managed to store two large suitcases and two carryons worth of stuff in the closet and kept one suitcase under the bed and one in the closet. We tucked our carryons inside. Plenty of room. And the curtain on the closet vs a wooden door means you hear less banging around from neighbouring staterooms!

The bathroom was brilliant! Didn’t mind at all that there wasn’t a main door. I fact, we preferred it. No slamming in the middle of the night! Some people bring motion activated nightlights for the bathrooms. Pack an air freshener for the WC if you have any concerns. We did not experience any off “aromas”. LOL!

The only issue with the room is that it seems to close the anchor. It’s likely several decks down but when we anchored in Santorini and Mykonos we were awakened by noise and vibrations around 6am. No one else has reported this so perhaps it was a one-off thing? During days when we docked, the noise was not as bad but we did experience vibrations.

I would possibly book this room again knowing this but I’d try to seek out a more midship location on the same deck. If it was the last XL available on a sailing I liked, I’d still probably book it because we really enjoyed the layout. Didn’t mind the walk to the lifts. This room would be a non-issue for early risers! Think of it as your early AM alarm clock!

We just spent 11 nights in this cabin on the Scarlet Lady. I wanted to post a photo showing the tiny bit of the railing that is not glass but there doesn’t seem to be any way for me to do that. The cabin is located under the bridge, and the bit of metal railing is the beginning of the “swoop” of metal that surrounds the front-facing cabins of the ship. It’s hardly noticeable. (And yes, it does have a hammock.)

This room actually has a hammock and glass balcony

Thank you for the information, looks like we had that listed incorrectly, that’s fixed now.
