Note: Loyalty Eligibility and Exceptions

While the Sailing Club loyalty scheme provides numerous advantages, it’s crucial to understand that certain types of bookings don’t earn loyalty benefits. These include cruises booked with access keys (gifted cruises, casino comp cruises, or those purchased with interline, airmails, or points), select reduced voyages (employee/employee family rates, vendor rates, and so on), and specific other booking categories. However, some bookings may still receive the benefits previously earned.

Side note: There is technically a step above the Sailing Club, it’s called Club 485C which is an exclusive club of 99 sailors and Richard Branson.

  1. Kiz McLeod says:

I used a FL Rate discount access key. Does that mean that the cruise I booked won’t count toward my DBE status?

    1. This should be fine and earn as usual. Best to confirm with Virgin Voyages however and get it in writing.

  2. Vince says:

Hello, does anybody know if the “reduced price voyage” restriction on qualifying sailings is for sailings under $100 per SAILOR per night or under $100 per CABIN per night? Tried re-reading the official VV T&Cs and it doesn’t specify, as far as we can tell…

In context, we’re looking at some of the £79 per sailor per night Black Friday offers right now and confused if they will count towards Sailing Club status? Thanks in advance! 🙏

    1. These voyages will qualify, significantly reduced typically refers to third party offers 🙂

  3. Stephen says:

Have just completed my first VV using a status match to DBE. I think I’m right to say that I will continue to get DBE on any cruise until 31/12/25. I am very keen to do VV again but already have 3 cruises booked for 25 and can’t do another so unsure what happens if my next VV cruise isn’t until after 2025. I know the whole loyalty set up will change in future and is as yet undecided but wondering if there is any guide as to whether my DBE status is secured and whatever DBE might be mapped to in a future new scheme will persist or could it lapse either through not cruising again sufficiently quickly or being the result of status match and not properly earned?

    1. At the moment Deep Blue Extras is showing up on 2026 bookings but really it has outlived its course and they’ve said a proper loyalty scheme is still coming. This has been promised since 2022…

      1. Stephen says:

        Thanks 🙂

  4. Elizabeth Flechas says:

We submitted our status on April 11 we leave tomorrow April 17 on scarlet lady and have not received update
We are platinum on Disney I called today and still pending

    1. There’s likely a lot of submissions with the new program

  5. Gilbert Beauchamp says:

I had a status match before December 23 and I travelled this March 2024. I now have a cruise booked for March 2025. Will I get the deep blue extras ? I read those will be extended to the end of 2025. Is that correct?

    1. Hi Gilbert, that is correct Deep Blue Extras is now on every sailing till December 31st 2025.

  6. Jane Bache says:

We received DBE Extras last year when we booked our cruise for Dec 2023 receiving benefits because of our loyalty with Princess Elite.

We’ve booked 5b2b cruises for December 24 whilst onboard before Dec 31st 23 so I’m assuming we will receive the loyalty match DB extras getting in before it was cancelled

    1. VV Insider says:

Hi Jane, you’ll receive Deep Blue Extras on any sailing that sets sail up to December 31st this year

  7. Claire Reid says:

Hello, we’ve cruised twice with virgin – once in 2022 and once in 2023. Can we just book any cruise in 2024 to get the DBEs?

    1. VV Insider says:

Hi Claire, that’s correct you’ll be automatically qualified as long as you had two voyages that qualify (i.e no access key, reduced rate etc). If it doesn’t show then contact Virgin Voyages.

  8. Patricia Lynn Ladd says:

I am Diamond with MSC. How do I input that for My Virgin cruise?

    1. VV Insider says:

The status matching program offered by Virgin Voyages has come to an end. Stay tuned for updates as there is hope Virgin Voyages may offer this again in the future.

    2. Scott Taylor says:

MSC is no longer part of Status Match for Virgin.

  9. Pammy says:

How do I join the sailing club loyalty program? Is it automatic?

    1. VV Insider says:

Everyone is automatically in the sailing club but as of now there is no way to qualify for any benefits associated with it, we are awaiting new information from Virgin Voyages in the next few months.

  10. Jen says:

Hi, we have just sailed on a cruise we purchased on board when we had dinner on RL in December 23. It had an access code but was well over $100 per night, was not gifted, casino etc, or using points. It also wasn’t as generous as the current offer ending this month. Probably unfair to say it doesn’t qualify in our opinion.

    1. VV Insider says:

Hi Jen, this sailing would qualify as long as you had 2 sailings by end of 2023.

      1. Eirene Balodis says:

We did three sailings b2b2b 2023. Blue or Deep Blue?this next cruise in sept 2024

        1. You should have Deep Blue Extras. Some info here on qualifying.

  11. Harald Haldane says:

Elite with Princess, Platinum with Cunard and 3 stars with Holland America. I understand that Virgin has stopped matching, but I am sure they are aware that frequent cruisers like my wife and I look at the benefits before committing to future cruises. I hope that they consider this in any future developments as it can cost them many customers, us included. Currently booked on B2B2B cruises with Resilient Lady. Booking made September 13, 2023, and matching denied.

    1. VV Insider says:

Very true Harald and we’d expect to see some sort of matching system in play when the new Sailing Club launches this year

  12. Margaret Clark and Sandra james says:

I am platinum with princess as is my room mate

    1. VV Insider says:

You can no longer match into Virgin Voyages Sailing Club

  13. Shirley Paradise says:

I’m Diamond level with Royal Caribbean since 18 November 2023 Crown and Anchor number 363056766. Sailing on Virgin Resilient Lady on 19 February 2024. I wish to apply for a match of loyalty to Virgin’s Deep Blue Extras please. Cheers

    1. VV Insider says:

Hi Shirley, Virgin Voyages has stopped matching at this time. Deep Blue Extras can no longer be earned as of December 31st 2023. We’re anticipating details on the new club this month.

  14. Renee says:

I have Delta gold stays and the Amex reserve card. Does this qualify me for any kind of status or loyalty on vv? I sailed in 2022, but paid in full for it in 2021. I was supposed to sail again in 2923 but cruise was cancelled… We are finally sailing again in 2024

    1. VV Insider says:

A popular way of converting other loyalty programs to Virgin’s is to status match with MSC first – if you search you should be able to find the form that will let you do this.
Once you have your MSC status confirmed you should then be able to port that over to Virgin Voyages.

      1. Gail Robinson says:

Msc isn’t on the matching scheme so this won’t work. I’m diamond msc member and cruised 11 times to get to this level. But I can’t get status match with virgin

        1. MSC were on the match scheme until December 31st 2023

  15. DEBRA ANNE OTTWAY says:

both husband and wife secured match and sea more status. We both got $100 bar tab. do we both get the $10 coffee per day? do we both get a laundry bag etc.
we are in the same cabin

    1. VV Insider says:

Good question! Laundry is per cabin and coffee is per cabin. The Bar Tab credit is supposed to be per cabin but on recent sailings we’ve noticed this being applied to each sailor but this may be an administrative error.

  16. Josephine Roberts says:

Hi There, it will be my first cruise with Virgin in November 2024 .can you become a loyalty member, if you are a f/f member with Virgin? Is it necessary to provide this info to my cruise organisation.regards Josephine

    1. david says:

As far as we’re aware, you can’t directly transfer loyalty from airline schemes to Virgin Voyages Sailing Club – you can however transfer airline loyalty to MSC’s cruise loyalty scheme and then use that to transfer to Virgin. It might be a little cumbersome but worth the effort for all the great perks!

    2. Tyler says:

Yes! I got Deep Blue Extras after matching Virgin Voyages with my Virgin Australia Gold status.
