Loteria Gigante: Latin-Inspired Millennial Bingo

Loteria Gigante is an entertaining game show event offered by Virgin Voyages. It is designed to combine the fun of bingo with the flavors of tequila and mezcal. Hosted by The Happenings Cast in the Pink Agave, the ship’s Mexican restaurant. This event proves to be a lot of fun as you compete against other players to win.

The Bingo Card and Gameplay

At Loteria Gigante, the cast give sailors a bingo card filled with pop-culture-inspired items familiar to millennials. Each item features a playful ‘Spanglish’ translation, such as ‘el bird’ for an electric scooter or ‘la selfie’ for a selfie. The Happenings Cast ensures a vibrant environment, interspersing the gameplay with short music and dance interludes and opportunities for guest participation.

Additionally, guests can personalize their drinks, choosing their preferred fruit juice flavors, garnishes, and salt rims. For those looking for some adventure and a bit of a kick, there’s even a spicy ‘worm ring’ option made with ground-up mealworms! Be aware that there is a lot of alcohol on offer with this event should you have plans after!

I’m traveling on Scarlet Lady December 2024 and Lotería Gigante does not seem to be on the lineup. Hummm.
Anyone know if it could be a late add on?

    1. Rob Sammons says:

Hi Meg usually the line up fills up with more events around a week out and then more on board. It’s 99% certain it’ll be offered

  2. Debbi Xander says:

This even sounds like a lot of fun. We will be on our first Virgin sailing next spring. One question though, is it geared towards millennials? We are in our 50s and 60s.

  3. JDD says:

Soon to be first time sailor here, I assume bar tab can’t be applied to this even thought it’s a specialty “bevvie” experience as much as anything. Correct?

    1. VV Insider says:

You’re right, frustratingly Bar Tab cannot be used for any events on board even if they do center around drinks and beverages.

The only exception is Afternoon Tea which is charged at the bar rather than through the app so this is taken from your Bar Tab.

Is that a correct spelling? I’ve only ever seen it as “Loteria.”

    1. VV Insider says:

      You’re absolutely right. Our mistake!

Thank you for pointing that out, we’re going to get that changed.
