Bad Points About Cabin 12342A

  • con Balcony railing is metal instead of glass

This cabin has a full or partial metal balcony that will restrict your view of the sea. Some prefer this type of balcony versus the standard clear balcony as it offers a little more privacy while in port

  • con Does not have a balcony hammock

Unlike other cabins in this category, the balcony for this cabin doesn't have a hammock - this is normally because it's in a part of the ship that means it cannot be installed.

Although you don’t have one of the famous red hammocks. The vast majority of these cabins feature a hanging egg chair that is bolted to the deck instead.

  • con Smaller cabin than usual

This cabin is smaller than the standard cabin room in size, either by being narrower or having a smaller overall floor plan.
  • con Walk to elevators / lifts

This cabin is farther from the elevators and lifts than others, so it might take a bit longer to reach the onboard venues. However, Virgin Voyages ships are not as large as some other cruise ships.

View Deck 12 Plan

The ’A’ in the cabin number means it is on the port side of the ship (left of the ship if you’re looking straight forward). This can sometimes be important if you’re doing a repositioning voyage like a Transatlantic crossing as it will determine if you will have the sunshine or not.

About Cabin Category ‘XL Sea Terrace’

Designed for guests seeking extra space, the Sea Terrace XL offers an expanded living area, about 30% more than the standard terraces. It includes a spacious bathroom with separate chambers for the toilet and rainshower for additional privacy. The double vanity and extra storage cater to the needs of guests who prefer more room for their personal belongings. Of note some of these cabins may not include the iconic hammock and have metal balconies due to their proximity to the front or rear of the ship.

We have stayed in this room twice. We didn’t have any problem with the size and it was in a quiet part of the ship. The balcony was metal and not glass but that didn’t detract from the view. It felt more private. I loved the egg chair. I suppose everyone is different. But just wanted it to be balanced. The first time I stayed in this room I was worried as I knew there was going to be no hammock, but I was pleasantly surprised.

The room is smaller than others in the XL Sea Terrance series. A person has to squeeze between the bed and the table to access the side of the cabin that has the chair/refrigerator and balcony. Our suitcase could not roll between this space. The balcony is metal and has an egg chair. The balcony is too small for the egg chair. Any slight movement in the chair causes it to bang against adjacent wall. And, the adjacent cabin and see on your balcony when they stepped onto their balcony. Not much privacy. I would not recommend.
