The Splash of Romance package is an exclusive offering available to 90 cabins per sailing on Virgin Voyages cruises. Priced at $250 per cabin (up to 2 sailors), this package provides a range of benefits and experiences, offering a total value of up to $410 on a 7-night voyage. Here’s a breakdown of what the package includes and whether it’s worth considering for your cruise:

Package Inclusions:

  1. Expedited Boarding:
    • Enjoy the convenience of early boarding via a dedicated line for Splash of Romance guests starting from 1:30 PM.
    • This allows you to begin your vacation and explore the ship ahead of other guests.
  2. Curated Daily Cold-Pressed Juices:
    • Start your mornings right with up to 11 AM access to the Gym & Tonic Bar for refreshing cold-pressed juices.
    • The value of this perk can amount to $10 per person, providing a healthy and energizing boost throughout your voyage.
  3. Two 3-Hour Redemption Spa Thermal Suite Passes:
    • Indulge in relaxation and wellness with two 3-hour passes to the Thermal Suite.
    • These passes, either for a sea day or a port day, offer a serene escape and represent a savings of $79 or $59, respectively.
    • You can book this directly on board at the Spa front desk.
    • Note: If you choose to book Splash of Romance as a solo sailor you will only receive a single spa pass.
  4. Shake for Champagne:
    • Treat yourself to a Shake for Champagne, featuring a bottle of Moet Champagne worth around $110 or higher in some regions.
    • Savor this special moment and celebrate your cruise experience in style.
  5. Exclusive Cocktail Hour:
    • Join the Splash of Romance Cocktail Hour, an exclusive event typically held in On the Rocks or The Perch (in good weather).
    • Enjoy free-flowing drinks and mingle with the Happenings Cast, creating memorable moments as you embark on your voyage.
    • Look out for a letter in your cabin for when this will be on your voyage, typically it will be at 5:30PM midway through your voyage.
  6. Sultry Bites:
    • Throughout your voyage, you’ll receive two sets of sweets and macarons on specific days.
    • These delectable treats add an extra touch of indulgence to your cruise experience.

So, Is It Worth It?

  • For Shorter Cruises (like 3/4-Night):
Given the limited time, squeezing in every benefit might be a race against the clock. However, with potential savings of around $110, it still offers value for those keen on maximizing their experience.
  • For Longer Cruises (like 7/10/15-Night):
The true value of the “Splash of Romance” package shines through on extended cruises. The daily juice perk alone offers significant savings. Coupled with the other luxurious benefits, it undoubtedly enriches the cruising experience.

How to Book

Go to the Add-ons section in the Virgin Voyages app or website and select Splash of Romance. As each Splash of Romance add-on includes two sailors it will be automatically assigned to the sailor purchasing the package, you do not need to assign it to both sailors. Don’t worry as you will both be recognized at the port!

Final Verdict

The “Splash of Romance” package isn’t just about the tangible benefits; it’s about elevating the cruise experience, introducing moments of luxury, relaxation, and indulgence. For those on longer voyages or those seeking these added luxuries, it’s a clear winner. However, those on shorter trips or with a tight itinerary might want to weigh the benefits against their planned activities.

  1. Debbie says:

Is there any way to receive a non-alcoholic champagne for non-drinkers instead?

  2. Scotty says:

Thanks for all the detailed info. I know a solo sailor only gets one spa pass. Will they also limit to one juice per day? Or can I act like I’m bringing the 2nd juice to companion, and get both to go?

    1. Rob Sammons says:

Hey Scotty, they usually just have a list of cabins so aren’t aware how many are in each cabin, I’d imagine this would be fine.

  3. Esther Maldonado says:

For the cold pressed juices, curious why this article has the value listed as up to $11 per person, when the menu lists the prices for these juices at a max of $9 each? The fresh extracted juices are max $10 ea & the smoothies $11-13 ea, but I don’t think these are included in the SoR package – are they?

    1. Rob Sammons says:

Hi Esther you’re correct the max juice price currently anyway is $10 with the fresh extracted juice, updated to reflect this.

  4. Xander Langschmidt says:

I was just wondering, will it be possible to trade the champagne for something else? As me and my lady both don’t drink alcohol.

    Xander

    1. Rob Sammons says:

Hi Xander, typically not as it’s part of the package but if you explain your reasoning to Sailor Services they should be able to sort!

  5. Stephen White says:

This is a super-informative website, thank you! We are Virgin Voyages newbies and appreciate all of the helpful information. I just purchase SoR yesterday. Can both sailors get the fresh squeezed juices every day, or is it just a one-off? Thanks!

    1. Rob Sammons says:

Hey Stephen, thanks so much 😀 Yes it’s every day that you get the juices and that’s a juice for each sailor!

  6. JackieW says:

We have done SOR in past but we really don’t drink more than 1 glass of champagne. Can we get a bottle of red wine instead of champagne?

    1. Rob Sammons says:

No you have to get the champagne due to their partnership with Moet

  7. Tony G says:

One of the SoR perks listed is an “exclusive sail away event”. Any idea when this happens?

    1. Rob Sammons says:

Hi Tony there will be a letter in your cabin when you board that will tell you when the party will be, it’s typically on a port day at 5:30-6:30pm

  8. Penny says:

I’ll be cruising with my daughter. We would like the benefits of SOR, early boarding and spa passes. Would we be outcasts if purchased SOR? And would I be able to bring the bottle of Moet home if we chose not to drink it?

    1. Rob Sammons says:

Hi Penny. The event is definitely more couples but you can go for sure. They also set up the towel in a love heart on the bed. It’s worth doing anyway. And yes you can request your shake to be left unopened

    2. Laora says:

Thanks for all the info. I like a lot of thr perks asa solo. I however find it strange that as a solo we do not get two spa passes since we paid the same amount. Or maybe I would like to invite a fellow solo cruise mate.
Maybe they should offer it a lower rate for solo travellers or call it different for us.

  9. Kc Clark says:

Last year’s TA had purchased SoR. Never were made aware of any get-togethers with other SoR people.
Also were charged for the shake for champagne.
Despite that, purchased for this spring TA to Barcelona.

How can I ensure we receive all our perks this time?

    1. Rob Sammons says:

The letter should be there soon as you enter, if it’s not let them know. Shake for champagne is usually charged first then reimbursed the next day if it’s not contact sailor services they’ll knock it off the folio.

  10. cindy bozman says:

How long will it take for the shake for champagne cost to be reversed off my final account?

    1. VV Insider says:

You may need to contact Sailor Services directly with Virgin Voyages if you’re having problems with a charge.

  11. Kristy Jones says:

Can the SOR be cancelled and refunded if I receive an upgrade 24 hours before?

    1. VV Insider says:

Yes it can typically upgrades happen 48 hours prior

    2. Troy Hass says:

We are almost a year away from our cruise in Jan 2025 and I have the Virgin Voyages app down loaded but don’t see the add-ons section. How do I get to the add-ons section?

      1. VV Insider says:

Hi Troy, it’s in your account section, you can also check the website.

      2. Rip Washington says:

        From VV app HOME screen:

Click DISCOVER on bottom tool bar. That will take you to the screen that lists ADD-ONS.

        Click ADD-ONS.

  12. Kate says:

I have just purchased the SoR. When will my embarkation time be updated to reflect priority boarding?

    1. VV Insider says:

Hi Kate, the time in app will not be updated, simply go to the port at 1:30pm and say you have Splash of Romance, the team will sort you out.

      1. Kate says:

        Thank you 👍🏻

      2. Myra says:

        Hi
I have same question just bought the Splash package but on app earkiest embark says 14:30. Would i just select this but just show up early ti vip queue & you can board? Thanks

        1. VV Insider says:

Hi Myra, ignore your in app time and arrive for early boarding, more info here.

    2. Rip Washington says:

Your embarkation time will NOT be updated in the app. SoR description specifies your purchase entitles you to a 1:30pm embarkation. Be there by 1:30pm.

  13. Susan says:

Is this available to solo sailors? I’ll be celebrating a milestone birthday on board and this seems like a great package, especially once I make some friends

    1. VV Insider says:

Hi Susan, yes it is but not the spa pass limitation that typically you will only receive one spa pass not two

  14. Carin says:

There are 3 of us in our room. Will it be assigned to my parents or do we choose?

    1. VV Insider says:

It’ll assign to one sailor so whoever is priority sailor apply to them, then it’ll cover an additional person in the cabin. (You can likely all board together given you’re all in one cabin)

      1. Maria Turner says:

Will all 3 be allowed to the private SOR sail- away party ?

        1. Rob Sammons says:

Splash of Romance only covers 2 sailors per cabin, they may let you if its all cabin mates

  15. Sheila Johnson says:

Do rockstars get free use of the thermal spa?

    1. VV Insider says:

Hi Sheila, only Mega Rockstars get full use of the spa, click here for info.

  16. Hancock Debbie says:

We have the SOR package for our December sailing on resilent lady in December here in Australia 🙂 looking forward to a little extras

  17. valerie field says:

I would have liked this package, is it full?
I have only just seen it! ☹️

    1. Up to 75 cabins per sailing. Worth reaching out to virgin to see if it’s still available for your sailing.

      1. Andrew Horn says:

Yeah we booked it quite late. Was surprised it was still available.
