Virgin Voyages Weddings

Virgin Voyages offers couples the chance to celebrate their wedding while sailing to destinations around the world. Instead of a traditional venue, the ceremony takes place onboard the ship itself, with friends and family joining you for the voyage.

Some couples choose a private ceremony for just the two of them, while others invite guests and turn the sailing into a full wedding celebration at sea.

This guide explains how Virgin Voyages weddings work, the available wedding packages, how to book a wedding and what couples should know before planning their celebration.

At Sea Weddings Explained

Important: The most important thing to understand is that weddings held onboard Virgin Voyages ships are symbolic ceremonies rather than legally binding weddings.

Couples typically complete the legal marriage paperwork separately before or after the voyage depending on the rules where they live. The ceremony onboard is focused on the celebration itself, with the captain or a ship officer officiating.

Friends and family sailing with you can attend the ceremony depending on the package you select.

Virgin Voyages Wedding Ceremony Venues

Ceremonies can take place in several locations onboard depending on the ship and availability.

The Perch

An outdoor deck space on Deck 16 near the top of the ship with panoramic ocean views.

The Wake

The ship’s steakhouse located at the aft of the vessel overlooking the wake.

The Scene

A smaller private indoor event space used for ceremonies and celebrations.

Customizing Your Virgin Voyages Wedding

Couples can personalize several parts of the ceremony including flowers, music, decor, and cake flavors. You can bring your own ceremony music or choose from options provided by Virgin Voyages, and couples can write their own vows if they prefer a more personal ceremony.

Virgin Voyages Wedding Add-Ons

Beyond the core ceremony packages, Virgin Voyages also offers a range of optional add-ons that allow couples to personalize their celebration.

  • Upgraded floral arrangements
  • Live musicians or DJs for the ceremony
  • Professional photography
  • Spa packages for the couple before the ceremony
  • Enhanced ceremony decor
  • Specialty cakes or dessert upgrades

These extras allow each ceremony to feel more personal, whether you’re planning a simple elopement at sea or a larger celebration with friends and family.

Virgin Voyages Wedding Circles

Many couples invite friends and family to sail with them, effectively turning the wedding into a group cruise. Virgin Voyages calls this program Wedding Circles.

Wedding Circles allow couples to reserve a group of cabins for guests traveling together and unlock a few additional perks for the group.

  • 10% discount on voyage fare for most cabins
  • Ability to hold up to 16 Sea Terrace cabins for 30 days while planning
  • Guests can be added to the group up to 45 days before sailing
  • Bar Tab added per cabin depending on voyage length
  • Pre-voyage dining coordination for the wedding group

Bar Tab is currently provided based on the length of the voyage:

  • $100 Bar Tab for 4–5 night sailings
  • $200 Bar Tab for 6–8 night sailings
  • $300 Bar Tab for sailings of 9 nights or longer

Wedding Circles are designed to make it easier for friends and family to travel together while also adding a few extra perks for the group.

How Much A Virgin Voyages Wedding Actually Costs

The wedding package price is only part of the total cost of getting married on Virgin Voyages. While the ceremony packages start at $4,000, the overall cost will depend on how many guests are sailing with you and which cabins everyone books.

For example, a small elopement style ceremony for just the couple may only involve the wedding package plus the cost of the cruise itself.

However, if you’re inviting friends and family, the total cost will usually include:

  • The wedding package itself ($4,000 – $8,000)
  • The cruise fare for the couple
  • Cruise fares for guests attending the wedding
  • Optional add-ons such as upgraded flowers, music, or photography
  • Pre or post voyage travel and hotels

For many couples, the appeal of a cruise wedding is that the venue, dining, entertainment, and accommodations are already included as part of the voyage. Guests joining the wedding will typically book cabins across the ship, with many groups choosing balcony cabins from the different Virgin Voyages cabin types available.

We’re always happy to help couples understand what the full cost might look like based on the voyage they’re considering and the number of guests joining the celebration.
