Watching Sports Events & TV
Virgin Voyages may offer sports viewing in the Red Room, Social Club, and Athletic Club. Premium WiFi allows streaming, and cabins have ESPN and Sport 24.
For sports fans looking to catch major events while onboard, Virgin Voyages provides a few options. Here’s where to watch games and keep up with TV shows:
Where to Watch Sports Events & TV Onboard
While Virgin Voyages doesn’t prioritize sports broadcasts, certain areas are designated for viewing:
- Deck 6 – The Red Room: During major events, such as the Super Bowl, NFL games, European Football finals and some select other sports games. If the game is popular enough then the Red Room may be used and feature a large screen, creating a stadium-like atmosphere for communal viewing.
- Deck 7 – The Social Club: The Social Club includes two large TVs that may show games. Like the Athletic Club, this area hosts various other events, so sports broadcasts may be limited or muted. The Social Club is an ideal spot to gather with more traditional game food like hot dogs on offer.
- Deck 6 – The Casino: The large Casino screen may be set up for viewing, especially for big sporting events, offering a casual space to watch from the tables.
- Deck 16 – The Athletic Club: The Athletic Club has four large screens, often tuned to sports channels. However, since this space also hosts events, sports broadcasts may be muted or unavailable at certain times.
Be sure to check your event-line up which may change whilst you are on the voyage, it is worth letting Sailor Services know if major events are available and not listed.
In-Cabin TV Access
For a more private option, in-cabin TVs generally offer ESPN & ESPN2 US channels. Additionally Sport24’s cruise channel covers a wide range of sports, you can view a schedule here.
Note: Availability may change depending on region and is not guaranteed.
Premium WiFi for Streaming
Another option is Virgin’s Premium WiFi package which unlocks video streaming capabilities. This allows you to use your existing devices to watch sports games directly on your device if the shipboard TVs aren’t broadcasting them. The basic WiFi package does not support streaming.
Note: Availability of certain sports services may be limited depending on the ship’s reported location and a VPN may need to be used.
Other TV Channels Onboard
In-cabin TVs also offer a mix of news and music channels for entertainment:
- General News & Entertainment Channels: BBC HD, BBC News, MSNBC, and Fox News.
- Virgin Music Channels: Virgin Voyages provides several audio-only music channels, including:
- Let a DJ Save Your Life
- Bimini Beach Vibes
- Make a (Melody) Splash
- Get Loose
- Virgin Unique Channels:
- Bridge Cam: Live feed from the bridge.
- Voyage Tracker: Maps and schedules for tracking the ship’s journey.
- Special Events Channel: Broadcasts of ship-wide events onboard.
