Deep Blue Extras Extension

Deep Blue Extras, a beloved program among Virgin Voyages sailors, is being extended through the end of 2025. It will continue to offer exclusive perks to qualified sailors, including Sea Blazers and Sea Rovers. Additionally, it will now be available to those embarking on their 5th sailing.

Status Level Matching Returns (First Sailing)

Commencing on April 3, 2024, Virgin Voyages extends an invitation to new sailors with loyalty status from various cruise and travel brands to participate in the Sailing Club Status Match initiative.

Eligible sailors who provide proof of their loyalty status in other programs, alongside a confirmed booking with Virgin Voyages, will receive Sailing Club membership along with Blue Extras privileges.

Sailors opting for the Status Match enrollment will enjoy Blue Extras benefits during their inaugural voyage and persist in receiving them until they attain Deep Blue Extras on their fifth voyage.

My wife and I just booked our second VV Cruise. We used the status match this go around. We have sailed with Disney 8 times. We were given Blue Extras. Why would’nt we be able to get Deep Blue Extras

    1. Rob Sammons says:

Hi Jonathan they no longer match into Deep Blue Extras it was clogging up the loyalty scheme with too many people matching in, however Blue Extras is what they match into and you essentially will start your cruise count at 0 and have to work up to 5 sailings. It’s still very generous compare to what Disney offers in all honesty.

  2. Derek Bell says:

I noticed that there is no mention of 10% discount if you paid in full as a Deep Blue Extra like previous years, this was a good perk, glad I booked my 2024 cruises and recieved the discount. It would have been nice if it was rolled over to 2025 as I have got 3 cruises booked.

    1. Rob Sammons says:

Yeah this ended October time and doesn’t appear to have come back 🙁

  3. Henry says:

    Question:
If 2 people in a cabin have DBE does each get all the benefits. 2 coffee credits each, 2 bags of laundry ect…

    1. Rob Sammons says:

The t&cs now say “per sailor” whether this is the reality I’m not sure.

      1. Jon says:

Yes, the old wording seemed to imply $10 per cabin, but the new seems clear that it is per sailor as long as the sailor has qualified for the benefits, so I’m hoping next month we do get two free coffee each!

  4. Jill Gerew says:

Slightly confused re 2 Specialty coffee for DBE. We just sailed as DBE in March. It was a $10.00 specialty coffee credit for the cabin. If we are both DBE in the same cabin, is it now $10.00 each or $20.00 per cabin?

    1. Rob Sammons says:

Hi Jill this has been slightly updated to be coffee credits instead of $ amount. So you get 2 credits per sailor a day now instead of $10 per cabin a day.

  5. Dianne Scott says:

Hi. There are 3 couples in our party. 2 couples have DBE through the status match but one couple do not. Will they be able to board in the priority line with us?
Or have to wait for their allotted time which is 3pm. We sail from Miami on the TA to Barcelona. Thank you.

    1. Rob Sammons says:

Hi Dianne according to VV’s terms (scroll down to sailing club) https://www.virginvoyages.com/promotional-terms-and-conditions it’s just for cabin mates “cabin mate of Sailing Club sailor will be permitted to join when arriving together”.

  6. Steve says:

A bit of a disappointment after all this time, just really a slightly modified extension of what’s been in place. Now VV next big announcement should be Brillant Lady itineraries later this month??

    1. Jon says:

I suppose at least it isn’t getting significantly worse!

  7. Adrian says:

Interesting to see how this works for us currently on 3 B2B cruises as part of the repositioning cruise.

    1. Rob Sammons says:

They’re saying it’ll take up to 30 days post sail to get the perks so probably nothing unfortunately, maybe the Barcelona leg?

      B2B info: https://vvinsider.com/guides-and-faqs/guide/back-to-back-b2b-sailings/

    2. Dave says:

According to the information on the detailed pages:

Credit for a voyage is applied towards perks 30 days after the voyage concludes. Sailors on consecutive voyages who meet the criteria for the next tier of perks will not experience the benefits of that higher tier during the consecutive voyage

  8. Rebecca says:

just fetched SOR yesterday for my sailings in 25, in case of early boarding not available anymore in my perks…. now I know 🙂

  9. Ryan says:

I wonder when they will update 2025 sailings to show DBE. Not showing on my jan sailing yet.

    1. Rob Sammons says:

The club should launch officially later today so hopefully it shows then, nothing showing for mine either

    2. Kieran Fox says:

      Anyone’s showing yet?

      1. Derek Bell says:

I have DBE showing for my 3 cruises this year, but nothing showing yet for the 3 in 2025. Just checked this morning.
