Thanksgiving on Virgin Voyages

As the festive season approaches, Virgin Voyages is inviting travelers to rethink the traditional Thanksgiving celebration with a refreshing holiday experience. VV is offering a distinctive twist on the holiday, allowing passengers to swap customary festivities with new traditions aboard the Lady Ships, without the typical hassles of the season.

The following offerings have been confirmed for the following sailings:

  • Scarlet Lady‘s 5-night Riviera Maya voyage departing from Miami on November 19, sailing to Cozumel and Bimini Beach Club in the Bahamas
  • Resilient Lady‘s 15-night Singapore, Bali & Australia cruise leaving Singapore on November 20 before heading to Bali, Darwin, Cairns, Airlie Beach, and Sydney

It’s not yet known if the Thanksgiving offerings will be available to Valiant Lady sailors on board the 8-night Eastern Caribbean Charm sailing on 18 November. We have reached out to Virgin Voyages for clarification.

Crafting New Traditions at Sea

The concept of Thanksgiving cruises capitalizes on the desire for new experiences. Rather than the repetitive cycle of home-based rituals, Virgin Voyages encourages the creation of new traditions. Imagine swapping the sight of barren trees with sun-drenched beaches or trading backyard football with jet skiing in the Bahamas or exploring ancient temples in the Riviera Maya.

Onboard, passengers can partake in unique holiday-themed activities and relish special Thanksgiving dinners with a twist. The holiday menus diverge from the standard fare, offering dishes like pumpkin risotto, roasted turkey with a touch of green mole, or a Korean-style Thanksgiving meal, adding an international flavor to the traditional palate.

New Food Offerings

There are select food options available at some of the restaurants on board during these thanksgiving sailings. A three course menu will be offered for sailors, Virgin Voyages have dropped some hints about what to expect on each menu, we will know more about the full menus closer to the time so make sure to keep posted;

Italian-Inspired Thanksgiving at Extra Virgin

Extra Virgin, the high-end Italian restaurant on board the Virgin Voyages ships, will offer an inspired pumpkin risotto to help ring in the holiday season.

Korean BBQ Thanksgiving at Gunbae

Guests can see their thanksgiving meal being cooked live in front of them at the table at Gunbae, the Virgin Voyages’ unique Korean BBQ restaurant. Gunbae will be offering a turkey plate with an Asian pear cranberry sauce, served with Kimchi.

Mexican Thanksgiving at Pink Agave

Virgin Voyages’ Mexican restaurant will be serving roasted turkey with cornbread stuffing. This will be served alongside a green mole formulated just for this limited festive menu.

Vegan Thanksgiving Dish at Razzle Dazzle

Razzle Dazzle originally was going to be an exclusive vegan offering on board the Virgin Voyages ships, it has since expanded the menu to include a more varied selection. For Thanksgiving, they are returning to their vegan roots by offering a warming heirloom fall squash soup.
