Virgin Voyages has released its 2026 impact report, titled Sea Change: Changing Sailing. For Good., highlighting the cruise line’s crew culture, sailor experience, sustainability work, accessibility efforts, and operational growth.

Rather than using a traditional corporate format, the report takes a magazine-style approach with stories and interviews from crew members and leadership teams across the fleet.

Focus On Crew Experience

A major section of the report focuses on crew culture, which Virgin Voyages refers to as “The Best Gig Ever.” The cruise line says it now has more than 7,000 crew members across the business, including over 6,500 shipboard crew.

The report highlights several crew initiatives, including free WiFi for shipboard crew, equal pay regardless of nationality or gender, leadership training, and mental wellbeing support.

Virgin Voyages also says 40% of crew are accommodated in single occupancy cabins, while female representation across shipboard positions has reached 36%, compared to an industry average of just over 20%.

Accessibility, Dining, And Sustainability

The report also highlights accessibility initiatives, including custom beach wheelchairs at The Beach Club at Bimini and wider accessibility considerations across cabins and public spaces.

Virgin Voyages again points to several operational decisions that helped define the onboard experience, including removing traditional buffets in favor of made-to-order dining across more than 20 eateries onboard.

The company also references the removal of unnecessary single use plastic water bottles as part of its broader sustainability efforts.

Entertainment, Innovation, And Partnerships

The report also covers Virgin Voyages’ entertainment strategy, including the Happenings Cast concept and the success of Duel Reality, which later transferred from Scarlet Lady to shore-based performances.

Virgin Voyages also touches on its growing use of AI across the business, including operational tools, marketing, and marine systems that respond to weather patterns in real time.

The report additionally highlights partnerships tied to sustainability and social impact, including Virgin Voyages’ collaboration with Yellow Leaf Hammocks, whose handmade red hammocks have become one of the most recognizable features across the fleet.
