If you think Virgin Voyages is all nightlife and late-night parties, think again. The ships offer a broad mix of daytime experiences for anyone who prefers slower mornings, relaxed afternoons, or a full day on board.

From morning workouts to poolside lounging, games, and creative sessions, there’s a lot to explore without spending extra. Whether you’re sailing Scarlet Lady or the new Brilliant Lady, this guide shares six ways to enjoy your day at sea.

Video Overview

1. Indoor Activities: Games, Karaoke, and Arcade Fun

Virgin Voyages’ ships feature plenty of indoor entertainment spaces open throughout the day, offering a mix of casual games and social hangouts. You can explore more of these venues in our VV Insider Venues Guide.

The Social Club: Board Games and Puzzles

The Social Club, styled like an American diner, becomes a relaxed games lounge during the day. A large chest holds board games, puzzles, and card decks to borrow. It’s a friendly environment, and other guests often join for a quick round. Next door, The Loose Cannon adds a pub-style setting with a jukebox and comfortable seating.

The Arcade: Free Gaming All Day

The Arcade varies by ship but usually includes nostalgic classics and racing games. Everything is free—just press start. Multiplayer games are especially popular for quick challenges with friends or fellow travelers.

The Groupie: Private Karaoke Rooms

The Groupie has three private karaoke rooms for small groups. You can sign up for a free session on the sheet outside the venue. Song lists differ slightly by ship and are updated over time.

2. Outdoor Activities: Outdoor Activities and Sports

Outdoor decks on Virgin Voyages ships blend relaxation and activity, offering playful spaces with ocean views.

The Athletic Club

Located aft on Deck 16, The Athletic Club includes oversized swings, an adult seesaw, and a large suspended net with sea views. There’s also an oversized chessboard and shaded seating for quieter moments.

Sports Court: Pickleball and Basketball

The Sports Court changes layout depending on scheduled events. Pickleball and basketball are regular features, and guests can borrow equipment when no organized games are happening. Crew members can advise on availability and upcoming activities.

3. Prime Spots for Relaxation and Sunbathing

Every ship offers spaces designed for calm and comfort, from exclusive lounges to shaded decks. For deck maps and layouts, visit our VV Insider Venues page.

Richard’s Rooftop (Rockstar Suites Only)

Guests in Rockstar Suites & Mega Rockstar Suites have access to Richard’s Rooftop—a peaceful retreat at the front of the ship with loungers and two hot tubs reserved for black-band guests.

The Sun Club: Deck 16 Sunbathing

The Sun Club spans most of Deck 16 and features sun loungers, a bar, and the Sun Club Cafe, serving light bites like bao buns and poke bowls. Many guests overlook this spot, but it’s one of the best for a relaxed afternoon.

The Aquatic Club and Well-being Pool

The Aquatic Club is the main pool area, surrounded by padded loungers. Nearby, the Well-being Pool offers whirlpool seating and two adjacent hot tubs. The nearby Gym & Tonic bar keeps the atmosphere calm and social.

The Dock and The Dock House

The Dock and The Dock House are ideal for meze-style bites with ocean views. The indoor section offers similar service with air conditioning for warmer afternoons.

Quiet Lounges and Hidden Corners

Sip Lounge and On the Rocks remain calm through the day and are good spots for reading or a quiet drink. The Roundabout, near The Pizza Place, provides central seating for people-watching—especially stylish on Brilliant Lady with her new design or head outside along Deck 7 to the day beds.

4. Brunch: Two Distinct Styles

Virgin Voyages offers two main brunch venues on every ship, each with its own atmosphere and menu. You can read full menus here.

The Wake: Elevated Elegance

The Wake serves a refined brunch featuring dishes like eggs Benedict, chowder, and filet mignon. The service feels polished but never formal—casual dress is fine, and it’s great for long, social meals.

Razzle Dazzle: Casual and Relaxed

Razzle Dazzle brunch changes theme by ship:

  • Valiant Lady & Resilient Lady: Modern American fare with vegan and vegetarian options
  • Scarlet Lady: Lucky Lotus by Razzle Dazzle with Asian-inspired flavors
  • Brilliant Lady: Rojo by Razzle Dazzle offering Spanish-inspired dishes

Both restaurants also offer an optional bottomless brunch add-on with drinks such as mimosas and sparkling wine for a set price.

5. Free Entertainment and Happenings Cast Events

The Happenings Cast hosts a range of complimentary daytime events, from craft workshops to fitness classes. Each sailing’s schedule changes, so check the Sailor App once on board or browse our VV Insider Events page for examples.

Highlights

  • Charmers Lounge: Magicians known as The Charmer perform one-hour shows blending illusion and comedy.
  • Crafting Sessions: Activities include bracelet making or painting led by onboard hosts.
  • Dance Classes: Popular sessions like Broadway Boogie, VHS Workout, and Hot in Heels mix music, movement, and fun—no experience required.

Fitness and Wellness

All ships feature daily fitness classes, including yoga, Pilates, and bungee workouts. These sessions are included in your fare, though space can be limited, so booking early through the Sailor App is recommended.

Sea days on Virgin Voyages are a chance to relax, explore, and make the ship your destination. To get the most out of them:

  • Book popular fitness classes as soon as you board
  • Arrive early to reserve a karaoke slot at The Groupie
  • Try both brunch venues during longer sailings
  • Check the Sailor App each morning for schedule updates
  • Don’t skip Happenings Cast events—they’re often a highlight
  • Visit quieter spaces like The Dock House or Sun Club Cafe for downtime

Virgin Voyages’ daytime options strike a balance between rest and activity. Whether you’re recharging by the pool or joining a group dance session, there’s always something to suit your pace—and plenty of ways to make a sea day feel like its own destination.

Boooooooring!!! A pool smaller than an inflateable kiddy pool and basically nothing to do on board. If I wanted to play arcade games, I would go on my xbox. Thanks for convincing me to never go on Virgin.

Is that Mike the Sailor that was just on the Quebec City to Miami trip with us?
